The Petuaria Ruins

The Petuaria Ruins were Roman ruins situated near the Humbre River and the Derwent River, in Eurvicscire, England.

History[edit | edit source]

Around 876, the Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir traveled with Halfdan Ragnarsson and his dog, Beonton, to find his scout Olav's killers. Beonton led the two Vikings to the Petuaria Ruins, where Eivor and Halfdan discovered a hidden treasure room containing the surplus of goods and wealth from past battles. Halfdan roared out accusations that his own men had betrayed and robbed him, and later asked Eivor about her conversation with Moira. Eivor stated that Moira believed Halfdan suffered from mental illness, but Halfdan insisted he had been poisoned.[1]

During their conversation, Eivor asked Halfdan to be silent as they soon heard a commotion above them. Leaving the ruins, the two were surprised to find Ulf and his men, who greeted their jarl and Eivor. However, Halfdan accused them of being thieves and murdering Olav. Ulf attempted to defend himself against the accusations, claiming the war spoils had been a gift from Faravid and that Olav had been killed after being mistaken for a thief. Refusing to believe him, Halfdan ultimately executed Ulf for his apparent treason. He then asked Eivor to continue investigating Faravid as the two parted ways.[1]

Sometime later, Eivor returned to the temple ruins, where she recovered a Book of Knowledge and learned a new ability, "Poisonous Powder Trap."[2]
