Nickel is a is a silvery-white metal with a slight golden tinge. It is sometimes used in bronze alloy.

During the 9th century, the Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir collected nickel ingots in order to upgrade her gear with the help of the Raven Clan blacksmith Gunnar.[1]
