The Mozzi family was an Italian noble house hailing from Florence. Originally coming from more modest means, the Mozzi saw quick social and economic ascension at the end of the 12th century,[1] becoming an influential banking family.[2][3] Other business forays of the Mozzi included a clothing business,[1] as well as a bakery in the courtyard of the family's palazzo, which was opened by Maria de' Mozzi in the 15th century, which also served as a gathering place for artists.[2]
