Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

The Morning Star, a weapon in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, shares the model with a number of other weapons in the same game, such as the Mace of the Sphinx and Markos' Tenderizer. These are all recycled from the Bone-Cracker, a weapon in Assassin's Creed: Origins, which itself was apparently based on a mace from Roman Egypt dated to 30 B.C.–A.D. 364 and is now at the Metropolitan Museum of Art with accession number "15.2.6a, b".[2]

Its name, however, is anachronistic as proper morning stars were a medieval weapon.
