Lutetia Bureau

The Lutetia Bureau was a Hidden Ones bureau situated in the former Roman town of Lutetia Parisiorum in what is now Paris, France.

History[edit | edit source]

Likely founded during the days of the Roman Empire, the Lutetia bureau was one of the bases established by the Frankish Hidden Ones in Roman Gaul alongside the ones in Champlieu, Diodurum and Gisacum. The bureau also housed Joyeuse, a short sword wielded by the Carolingian Emperor Charlemagne.[1]

During her journey through West Francia, the Raven Clan jarlskona Eivor Varinsdottir read a letter from the Frankish rebel Pierre detailing the Hidden Ones' symbol found in Paris. Traveling to the city, Eivor found the Lutetia bureau underneath Paris and discovered a dead Frankish soldier with another letter that outlined his fellow soldiers' plan at other ruins. Eivor noticed three keys were needed to open a locked door and followed the soldiers to investigate the Champlieu, Diodurum, and Gisascum Ruins.[2]

After collecting the three keys from the other ruins, which were also surrounded by dead troops, Eivor returned to Lutetia and opened the door. Wandering and searching around the abandoned bureau, she discovered a breakable wall. Destroying the wall, Eivor noticed a chest, opened it, and retrieved the short sword Joyeuse. Leaving the room, Eivor noticed a new letter by the author "AC" on the ground of the bureau's entrance. The letter apologized for the corpses Eivor had seen, going on to say that the author "must yet stay unknown in the darkness", and she deduced that some Hidden Ones had remained in Francia.[2]
