Eivor inspecting Lugh's Spear

Lugh's Spear was the legendary spear supposedly owned by the Isu Lugh, who would later be remembered as the Irish god of craftsmanship and law. During her travels, the Raven Clan Viking Eivor Varinsdottir claimed the weapon for herself after defeating its former owner, a local champion at the River Erriff.[1]

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

Despite its common sounding name and generic description, the spear may be a reference to the Gáe Assail, Lugh's semi-sentient and bloodthirsty spear with which he killed the Fomorian giant Balor. Like both Gungnir and Mjölnir, it could return to the wielder once thrown and was said to have lightning powers,[2] similar to Assassin's Creed: Valhalla's depiction of his son Cú Chulainn's spear Gae Bolg which differs from the mythical accounts.
