Ka'b ibn Zuhayr was a 7th century Arabian poet and a contemporary of the prophet Muhammad.
Ka'b gained fame for his Bānat Suʿād, a qasida in praise of the prophet.[1] After presenting the poem to Muhammad, the prophet was moved by the verse that he removed his mantle and wrapped it around Ka'b, which was considered a great honor. Ka'b's poem was later on compiled into the Jamharat Ash'ar al-Arab, which the 9th century Alamut Hidden One Tabid Al-Nubi obtained a copy of. He sought to share the book and the poem to his Mentor Fuladh Al Haami and recite the verses to him and friends.[2]
