James Mitchell Varnum (17 December 1748 – 9 January 1789) was a Brigadier, then Major, General in the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War.
Before the war, Varnum lived in Rhode Island and was looking to start his own group of rebels, similar to the Sons of Liberty in Massachusetts. The Assassin Connor sent his recruits to train and teach him.
