Jacopo Tiepolo (c. 1170 – 1249) was the Doge of Venice from 1229 to 1249.
In 1246, after having a dream about white birds flying over the site, Tiepolo donated a plot of land to the Dominicans, which would later become the site of the Basilica dei Santi Giovanni e Paolo, one of the largest churches in Venice.[1]
