Iuseneb was an informant of Apollodorus who lived during the reign of Ptolemy XIII.
Biography[edit | edit source]
In 48 BCE while in Herakleion, Iuseneb was dispatched by Apollodorus to investigate a farm situated in the eastern corner of Herakleion Nome. Arriving at the farm, Iuseneb discovered it to have been converted into a Roman military camp, used to train elephants for war, by feeding their bloodlust and hardening them to killing by sacrificing captured Egyptian farmers.[1]
Iuseneb was discovered by the Romans, who tied him up along with the farmers in preparation for another elephant training session. However, he was rescued by the Medjay Bayek of Siwa, who had come to investigate. Iuseneb reported his findings to Bayek, and then returned to Herakleion to report to Apollodorus.[1]
