The Imperial Shield was a light shield dedicated to Charlemagne, king of Francia.
During the Viking expansion into England, the shield was made available to the shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan through an Animus modification by Layla Hassan, an Assassin who relived her memories.[1]
