The Hachiman Canal was a canal that ran through Hachiman in southern Ōmi, Japan.
History[edit | edit source]
In 1582, the Kakushiba ikki member and samurai Yasuke met with fieldworkers along the canal and talked about how another samurai that threatened them for more payment on their taxes. After meeting with the fieldworkers again, he informed them of killing the corrupt samurai, to which they informed Yasuke about his boss, a daikan in Azuchi. Thanking them, Yasuke began to track down the daikan.[1]
