George Featherway was a British lieutenant who participated in the Gallipoli campaign in Turkey during World War I.
Biography[edit | edit source]
After the disastrous campaign, George was hospitalized in April 1915 and wrote a letter describing his condition to his uncle, who served as a politician in Westminster in London, England. In his letter, George also expressed his disgust for Winston Churchill, stating he should be dismissed for the campaign and his recklessness.[1]
In 1916, the Assassin Lydia Frye recovered George's letter in the city. After the war, George accepted his uncle's offer of a post in Westminster, briefly working as a politician. He later became a prosperous businessman.[1]
