Garnet was a pirate captain active in the Caribbean during the Golden Age of Piracy. In 1713, Garnet's ship was stolen by Captain Cliff and his men.[1] Edward Kenway and a few other pirates eventually tracked down the ship, but it had been wrecked in a fight between Cliff's crew and the Royal Navy.[2] Though Kenway and his mates at first attempted to retrieve a map that Navy Captain Stewart had taken, they deemed the location it led to much too dangerous to be known, returning to Garnet empty handed.[3]
