Fukuchiyama Castle

Fukuchiyama Castle (福知山城) is a castle situated in Fukuchiyama n Tamba, Japan.

History[edit | edit source]

In 1582, the Kakushiba ikki member and shinobi Fujibayashi Naoe aided her ally Nagoya Yagoro in his mission to find and kill Akechi Mitsuhisa, who was responsible for the workplace abuse over Yagoro's people in Ikuno and the killing of Fubuki, a member of Tsuyu's Kakushiba ikki and his former protector. There, they found Mitsuhisa in an inner courtyard and attacked him. Besting him and his men, Naoe watched Yagoro confront Mitsuhisa, who rebuffed Yagoro's insults and demeaned him as his town's protector. Fed up, Yagogo stepped forward with his hidden Blade and killed Mitsuhisa. Thanking Naoe for her assistance, Yagoro left back to his hometown.[1]

Later on another task, Naoe infiltrated the castle after finding the location of the Iron Hand, leader of the Iron Hand Guild, from his subordinate merchants to help Imai Sōkun root out his violent competitor. At a residence, the Iron Hand was found and assassinated by Naoe, who recovered an ōdachi Bloody Business from his personal effects.[2] Along with her fellow Kakushiba ikki member Yasuke, they later found Fernam Moreno, a fellow conspirator of a silver-smuggling ring taking advantage of Hosokawa Fujitaka's silver business. Catching sight of him using slaves as target demonstrations for his teppō, they assassinated the immoral merchant and recovered a teppō, The Trading Seal, from his personal effects.[3]

At some point, Naoe and Yasuke trespassed into the castle again, eliminated four of its samurai daisho, looted the Kasa of the Legendary Ronin from its treasure chest, and climbed to the top of its tenshu to survey the land.[4]
