Forward Camp was an Anglo-Saxon military camp build along the River Dee in the southwestern part of the region, southwest of Farnham. It was was protected by a sizeable military force.
In the 9th century, it was raided multiple times by the Vikings Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan, Vagn, and her longship crew.[1]
