The Ealdorman's Overlook was an area with a big tree on top of a cliff in Lincolnscire, England.
History[edit | edit source]
In 875, the Viking Eivor Varinsdottir searched for and found the young lord Hunwald, who ran off to this area. In fact, this area was where Hunwald and his late father, Ealdorman Hundbeorht hunted during Hunwald's youth. Hunwald engraved a short message on the tree and it stated: Hunwald and Swanburrow. At the overlook, Eivor and Hunwald talked about the possible future Hunwald may have as the shire's ealdorman, before they left to find his love, Swanburrow.[1]
