Dandelion Puff was a fox who was owned by an Anglo-Saxon woman in Oxenefordscire during the 9th century, believed by her owner to be a dog.

In the 870s, Dandelion and her owner's home suffered a fire outbreak. The fox was stranded in the home while her owner escaped with severe injuries. Fortunately, she was rescued and escorted to safety by the Viking Eivor Varinsdottir. As Dandelion's owner succumbed to her injuries, she entrusted the fox to Eivor in her settlement of Ravensthorpe in Mercia.[1]
