Santa Maria in Vallicella

The Chiesa di Santa Maria in Vallicella is a church in Rome, Italy.

Built by Pope Gregory I in the 6th century, it was dedicated to Santa Maria in Vallicella. In 1575, construction of the eminent cathedral began, and the church was later consecrated in 1599.[1]
