Winged Shield

The Winged Shield was a light shield utilized commonly wielded by Vikings, Norse raiders who attacked and looted Northern European settlements in the early Middle Ages.

During the Viking expansion into Anglo-Saxon England in the 9th century, the shield was made available to the shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan through an Animus modification by Layla Hassan, an Assassin who relived her memories.[1]
