Eivor standing atop Torghatten Rock

Torghatten Rock is a mountain located on Torget island along the western coast of Norway.

History[edit | edit source]

In the late 9th century, the Raven Clan shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir explored the mountain, synchronizing with a viewpoint on its summit, stacking a cairn at its base, and finding a treasure hoard buried in its distinctive eye.[1]

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

In Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, Torghatten Rock is depicted as being part of Hordaland, visible and almost due west from Alrekstad. In reality, the mountain is located in Nordland, northeast of Hordaland.
