Nanban's Curse was a teppō that Yasuke obtained in 1582. That year, Yasuke and fellow Kakushiba ikki member Fujibayashi Naoe met with Hosokawa Fujitaka in order to prevent a possible alliance between him and Akechi Mitsuhide, in turn being tasked with investigating a silver-smuggling ring affecting him.[1] The pair followed a lead into one of its members, Nycollaao de Castel Branco, locating him at his ship off the coast of Wakasa. They then assassinated the smuggler, recovering the firearm from his personal effects.[2]
