Kroisos, also spelled Croesus,[1] was a king of Lydia who was later immortalized in Greek mythology.
Influence[edit | edit source]
Long after his death, the stories of Kroisos and his wealth lived on, even as far as Kephallonia by the time of the Peloponnesian War[2] and Cyrene during the 1st Century BCE,[1] whether as dreaming of becoming rich[2], or describing someone who seems to be rich.[3]
