The Typhoon Tanto was a tantō that Fujibayashi Naoe obtained in 1582. That year, after Naoe and fellow Kakushiba ikki member Yasuke eliminated Shinbakufu member Akechi Kagemitsu, Shōtei gave Naoe a list of his fallen students who were wreaking havoc across Japan, trusting her to put a stop to their activities.[1] One of these students, going by the moniker of the "Godai of Water", was tracked down to Mangetsu-ji. There, Yasuke and Naoe assassinated the shinobi and retrieved the short blade from her personal effects.[2]
