Beornred (Old English: Beornræd; died c. 769) was an Anglo-Saxon who briefly reigned of King of Mercia following his murder of King Æthelbald.
After his death in 769, Beornred was buried in an abbey in the town of Repton, then occupied by the Great Heathen Army.[1]
