Corone (Greek: Κορώνη) is a town in Messenia, Peloponnese, Greece.
During the Renaissance, Corone was one of the territories controlled by the Republic of Venice.[1] In 1499, the Ottoman Empire defeated Venice at the Battle of Zonchio and seized Corone, Lepanto, and Modone.[2]
