Chadwick, also known as Chadwick, Monger of Gossips, was an Anglo-Saxon flyter who lived in Northwic in East Anglia during the 9th century.
During the 870s, Chadwick encountered the Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir and challenged her to a flyting match, which Eivor won.[1]

The name Chadwick is an English name of Anglo-Saxon origin meaning "town or village of Chad". It is a combination of the name Chad, a modern form of the Old English pet name "Ceadda" from the original "Charles", and the Old English word wic.
