The Hercules was a frigate in His Majesty's Royal Navy that sailed the Caribbean Sea in the early 18th century. She was captained by Templars, the Thomson brothers, and aided their Order in smuggling.
Sometime between 1716 and 1722, the ship stopped in the village of Grand Cayman to conclude a lucrative deal. The pirate Edward Kenway killed one of the Thomson brothers on the island, and chased the other brother, who tried to escape on the Hercules. Kenway's ship, the Jackdaw, eventually sank the Hercules, killing the Templar.[1]
