re: feather[edit source]

Concerning Herodotos's view on collecting feathers, if I recall this was not a line of dialogue but the flavor text on the feather itself while in Kassandra's inventory. I'm not sure if the item is kept at the end of the quest. Nor do I think we have a policy from citing item flavor text specifically. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 07:16, 10 March 2024 (UTC)

Here's some speech-to-text files I managed to get for what we're missing from Echoes of History. They're rough, but I figure it should be easier for you rather than having to start from scratch for all of them. Hope it helps! – Soranin (talk) 15:12, 2 April 2024 (UTC)

Thanks a bunch for these. I know I've been slow at that ever since my last update, I've been busy with work/reading IRL news to make time to sit and transcribe. Cleaning this up shouldn't be too difficult now that it's written. – Darman (talk) 22:20, 2 April 2024 (UTC)

...Or rather, I'd thank you properly if I could access the files. I clicked the link and they're apparently no longer available? – Darman (talk) 22:45, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
Oh, that's odd, it's still up for me. Hmm. Try this one then. – Soranin (talk) 01:37, 3 April 2024 (UTC)
Maybe it's because it's still in your web cache? This link works, though, thanks! – Darman (talk) 02:25, 3 April 2024 (UTC)

Hey Darman, wanted to check how you were doing and how things are coming along with the transcripts :) – Soranin (talk) 15:18, 13 May 2024 (UTC)

Hey Soranin,
Unfortunately, it's been much slower than I like, what with IRL work keeping me away from the computer. As you can see by my edits, I'm still here, but after working on my feet, I don't always feel the energy to just Sit™ and concentrate on typing, if it makes any sense? About 2 weeks after you sent the files, I had actually finished ~3/4 of the first Assassins script, only for my computer to freeze and crash. I lost all I'd done and have had to restart from the beginning, typing in short bursts when I can. (>.<) I know you can also access the speech-to-text files you made—they've been a real boon reading them over, so thank you again—but I don't want to ask for aid just yet, I don't think. – Darman (talk) 04:50, 15 May 2024 (UTC)
Oooof, being betrayed by the PC always sucks. And yeah, I get work being super draining (wish I didn't :p ) Great to know those files are useful, even with some amazing errors (for the Shadows one there was at least one instance of the Same Goku period). Just letting you know, so as to not step on your toes, but I'm going to work on the transcripts for the Shadows series for myself (so I can try and get rid of possible redlinks ahead of the game's release) but since it's for personal use only I won't bother with formatting (or punctuation, for that matter) and I'll send you the files for those when I'm done :) – Soranin (talk) 15:30, 16 May 2024 (UTC)
Go ahead with the Shadows eps, I'll keep ticking away (again) at the Assassins etc. and will await your docs to clean them up. Yeah, auto-subtitles can lead to some real hilarity. I can see it now: Nobunaga turns a hall corner and sees Goku, then sees the Same Goku in the kitchen, and the Same Goku again in the living room, etc! In similar fashion, it turns out that King Richard had tense fights with "Saturday"; guess he lived for The Grind and hated the weekend lol! Of course, we both know subtitle fun with the (in?)famous "Blade of Yumminess" back in Odyssey. – Darman (talk) 01:10, 17 May 2024 (UTC)
The truly amazing tales of "All Done Nobunaga" xD Finished the first ep, will try and finish the second one tomorrow and will send them both together. – Soranin (talk) 03:28, 17 May 2024 (UTC)
Haha! But also, where's the lie? Nobunaga certainly was "All Done" unifying the country. Sending files like you did with the Ragnarök ones should work, and if not, there's also uFile. – Darman (talk) 13:50, 17 May 2024 (UTC)
ufile, then since it's two of them, but I think if I manage to not let the remaining episodes accumulate we can also use pastebin, since they're txt files anyway. :) – Soranin (talk) 02:15, 18 May 2024 (UTC)
Do tell me how pastebin works out, cause I can try some other way of getting these to you. – Soranin (talk) 00:19, 21 May 2024 (UTC)

The bin's perfect! And I'm proud to say, I finished Assassins 1 transcript and sourcing! – Darman (talk) 01:00, 25 May 2024 (UTC)

Got a new transcriber working today. It takes a lot longer, but the quality is MUCH better so I'm gonna run all the episodes we're missing through it again and will get those new versions to you when it's done. – Soranin (talk) 20:41, 31 May 2024 (UTC)
Cool! Good luck re-running the eps you'd previously auto-transcribed. I admit I'll almost miss the funny typos, though. Will await your new set of docs. I'm almost done Assassins 2, should be posted before the next Shadows ep releases. – Darman (talk) 02:21, 1 June 2024 (UTC)
Nice! Can't wait to read it :) I too will miss the typos, but just thinking about how much less work this new doc set will need makes it absolutely worth it. And who knows? Maybe there will be a few typos, since this transcriber is meant for English text only and we have names and terms from a bunch of other languages. Maybe we haven't seen the last of Jessica, the first black samurai, or Toyota Hideous and All Done Nobunaga (actual typos the previous speech-to-text had). Also, this version does also add punctuation, which should help you a bunch. Though for the time it takes, it very much needs to be good work, it averages 20 minutes to transcribe a 30 min episode. But anyway, here is the link, including the latest episode too. – Soranin (talk) 02:50, 1 June 2024 (UTC)
Episode 5 :D – Soranin (talk) 22:54, 6 June 2024 (UTC)

Episode 6 and Ep 7. I'm gonna start to pare stuff on my sandbox throughout the week, but I'm thinking of holding off on adding to/creating pages since we don't really know what they'll change for Shadows but at least we'll have the info ready to go once it releases. – Soranin (talk) 15:15, 17 June 2024 (UTC)
Thanks! As you may've seen, I just went through the wiki after skimming your sandbox sections and added Echoes mentions in Appearances for all subjects that have a live page. Even if not all podcast subjects appear in Shadows, we can still use {Wiki} for IRL subjects as needed. – Darman (talk) 15:25, 17 June 2024 (UTC)
Here's the last of Japan and the first of England. That one had to be on ufile because trying to upload it to pastebin for some reason got it flagged by moderation ("Pastebin’s SMART filters have detected potentially offensive or questionable content in your Paste."). A pain, really. – Soranin (talk) 22:39, 1 July 2024 (UTC)
Another week, another episode. – Soranin (talk) 15:36, 8 July 2024 (UTC)
This week's ep. – Soranin (talk) 04:58, 15 July 2024 (UTC)

The koh-i-noor episode. Apparently we're already off to AC Odyssey next week. I'll be travelling for the next two weeks so I'll get those done when I'm back. – Soranin (talk) 18:12, 28 July 2024 (UTC)

Back from my odyssey with some episodes for you: #1, #2 and #3. – Soranin (talk) 14:58, 12 August 2024 (UTC)
I assume we'll soon be getting seasons consisting of a single 5 minute episode, if patterns continue to hold xD. Here's Origins #1. – Soranin (talk) 14:15, 19 August 2024 (UTC)
Origins #2Soranin (talk) 03:41, 26 August 2024 (UTC)
Final Origins ep, apparently. – Soranin (talk) 15:23, 2 September 2024 (UTC)

First ac3 ep. – Soranin (talk) 01:23, 12 September 2024 (UTC)

And #2. – Soranin (talk) 04:06, 16 September 2024 (UTC)
And #3 was too hot for pastebin to handle, again. Also, Christ, what is this ordering? Why are we going to Unity next??? – Soranin (talk) 03:17, 23 September 2024 (UTC)
Thanks. Wonder why some files are good and others aren't. Yeah, this ordering is madness (Templars are behind it!) Since the podcast will cover the French Revolution, with the obligatory info on the guillotine, maybe the "national razor" will be active and help us get the "single 5-minute episode" format you mentioned earlier XP – Darman (talk) 03:30, 23 September 2024 (UTC)
Unity one. – Soranin (talk) 03:26, 30 September 2024 (UTC)
I regret to inform you the next week is Valhalla again, though apparently it's about the Vikings in Ireland, so it's DLC lol. I'll get you the two missing unity eps in the morning btw. – Soranin (talk) 03:10, 14 October 2024 (UTC)
Vikings AGAIN?! Valhalla and all its cross-media of comics, DLC, etc. took forever to release and finish covering already. I'm almost as sick of it as I am with so much stuff in-universe going back to Ezio or characters/fans hyping him up (I think he's overrated and overused). This will be the series' third season on Norse culture, ugh. Btw, how is it you manage to learn what the next seasons are before they release? Always meant to ask but kept forgetting. – Darman (talk) 03:40, 14 October 2024 (UTC)
Unity two and Unity three. I think Unity 2 might have an ad in the middle there. Oh, I just listen to the last bit where they say the theme of next time's episode. – Soranin (talk) 13:14, 14 October 2024 (UTC)
Welcome to Ireland, a place with a lovely language that the transcribing software hates. Home to the High King Flanchino. – Soranin (talk) 04:23, 21 October 2024 (UTC)

...oh no. As if the auto-transcribing didn't have a hard enough time, I realized that I'll have to try manually spelling Irish Gaelic phonetically. Does Flanchino likes cappuccino? As for the end of eps, I admit I've tended to skip them when listening or skim over when reading, as they always seem to have the same or very similar closing blurbs that get repetitive. – Darman (talk) 05:45, 21 October 2024 (UTC)

Ireland 2. Trying out some new options on the software, though I think the middle bit needs some work still. Mind taking a look and letting me know if it's any better than the one before? – Soranin (talk) 16:20, 28 October 2024 (UTC)

Huh, no new episode this week, I wonder why. Still waiting on you to let me know about how the new options worked though :p – Soranin (talk) 15:50, 4 November 2024 (UTC)
Yeah, I was constantly refreshing the page around its usual release time (at night, for me), but it still wasn't up when I turned in. However, I checked it later and it's up, so must have just been a delayed upload. As for the transcript, I don't know what option(s) you toggled on, but what little Irish Gaelic there was here was much closer in its broadly-accepted romanization than the first ep (so far as I know, Gaelic does not have a "standard" like English has). The Renaissance will finally be up next, maybe a series finale in Middle East again, and then hopefully it will end. – Darman (talk) 00:35, 6 November 2024 (UTC)
Gods, I hope so. I will start killing if after renaissance they go back to Valhalla a fourth time to discuss the other DLC :p Anyway, here's the Ireland finale. – Soranin (talk) 03:03, 6 November 2024 (UTC)
[monkey paw curls] Great, now you've done it! You've ensured the next series will focus on the Siege of Paris instead. Oh, and jokes on y'all, I've had regular séances with High King Flanchino, who could have contacted you earlier, he just hadn't "joined" us yet since "talk"ing is easier to keep track of. – Darman (talk) 04:50, 6 November 2024 (UTC)

Thx. Since I just moved the Vikings season and respective transcripts to their own pages, I'll work on internally linking and citing pgs to them. – Darman (talk) 13:50, 6 January 2025 (UTC)

Not sure if yall are tracking or if it would even be faster than what you are already doing but the Apple Podcast app (specifically the app, not the browser version) has transcripts that you can copypaste. Unfortunately it only allows about 4 or 5 paragraphs at a time and there are some errors regarding stuff like capitalization. Maybe helpful, maybe not. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 06:25, 10 May 2025 (UTC)

Not there yet.[edit source]

Hi Darman!
I appreciate your diligence in editing the main page. Very cool! However, the staff is working in something at the moment, so I need to revert some of it back, just the character box 'cause it looks awkward with the Mirage skin in the background. The rest is good. Apologies for any inconvenience. Take care! – Cristophorus35 (talk) 05:02, 16 May 2024 (UTC)

No worries! Thought I'd give an attempt at it, but unfortunately, there's not a lot of stuff that I could think of to put in the box with only two official key arts, in stark contrast to what Mirage and Valhalla had. I don't mind waiting for Staff to finish their box designs. – Darman (talk) 05:25, 16 May 2024 (UTC)

For every page, a reflist[edit source]

Every page, even memories. The bulleted list formatting is poor tradecraft. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 05:16, 18 May 2024 (UTC)

re: Note[edit source]

As editors I think we are conditioned to view this as self evident. But I have seen more casual players already citing this AMA as proof that Altair is descended from Roshan even though the devs don't even mention Altair in there answer. Because the answer was not an explicit no many readers will interpret it as a coy yes. So I feel the note is necessary to explain that we can't take the statement as a coy yes that others might think it is. I am however bringing up this issue with other staff members and will get back to you later in the week. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 04:26, 27 May 2024 (UTC)

Not sure if it is general naivety or just underestimating the leaps in logic people will make but sense this AMA happened I’ve seen multiple people using it as proof that Altair is descended from Roshan. Just because you get it doesn’t mean everyone will. We have to cater to the lowest common denominator as it were. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 18:03, 28 May 2024 (UTC)

Unresolved talk page topics[edit source]

Hello Darman, I was wondering if I could put you on duty to gather and provide a feed of unresolved talk page topics every month. There are many lying about that are unsettled and which I myself miss and forget about when I don't have time to address them right away. Since you're on the wiki daily and are also responsible for opening many talk page discussions, alongside Lacrosse, I think you would be perfect for this task. I have also asked Lacrosse to do the same. Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 22:21, 28 May 2024 (UTC)

Hello Sol,
I shall certainly endeavor at this, between IRL work that regrettably keeps me away from a computer. Having Lacrosse helping will also minimize the sole pressure/workload. Where would you like us to post the list? – Darman (talk) 22:45, 28 May 2024 (UTC)
Just as messages on my talk page would be good. Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 22:48, 28 May 2024 (UTC)
I'll do it via discord to better prevent things from falling through the cracks by having the list on a second site. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 07:45, 31 May 2024 (UTC)
You probably already realized this but the new opentalk template is to help us manage this for Sol. But I still think we should do these monthly round ups. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 02:02, 22 June 2024 (UTC)

Historic Persons[edit source]

Hey Darman, quick question. I see why you reverted my edit based on the page history; however, my edit was based on the information on Jack the Ripper's, Anastasia Nikolaevna's and Leonidas I's pages which have the exact same information on there. Thus, my question would be whether that information is inaccurate, as the list would be too long to include on their pages as well? In that case it might be worth removing the information for their pages. Or, if that information is fine, my edit should be as well, right? Especially since there was interest in that information. I simply think the original edit with the list of too many characters got carried away with the MP and Rebellion characters. – Nygma PI (talk) 19:33, 29 May 2024 (UTC)

I think that the very first historical figure to have the title of playable character in the series deserves to have it mentioned, but old trivia sections have a bad habit of going way past the first of something. By the time we've reached Yasuke, the claim to that title has become too technical to describe even though it is not insignificant. I have revised the other articles accordingly. Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 20:51, 29 May 2024 (UTC)
I want to clarify too that "original edit with the list of too many characters got carried away with the MP and Rebellion characters" was the point. Since editors kept adding this note back, I revised it with the complete list to emphasize the problem with it. However, I am thinking it over and maybe the issue is that instead of approaching from "playable character", we should've approached it from "protagonist". Protagonist would exclude the multiplayer characters, Rebellion characters, Jack the Ripper (who is a playable antagonist), and Leonidas (who featuring only in the prologue is not a protagonist) and should leave only Anastasia and Yasuke (first in the series and first in a main line game, respectively)—except I also don't know if Giovanni Borgia in Project Legacy and Hattori Hanzō in Memories could also be called playable protagonists. Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 21:05, 29 May 2024 (UTC)
There's also Francesco Vecellio in Project Legacy. Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 21:13, 29 May 2024 (UTC)
Hello you two,
I was going to reply earlier but had to step away for work, though I see that Sol's replies have said what I had intended to post here, though more clearly than I could immediately put to words. As for Project Legacy, I don't think it truly counts even if it had historic persons, since it was more a Facebook game than a main production. – Darman (talk) 03:41, 31 May 2024 (UTC)
Project Legacy was still a legitimate game and one of the most significant spin-off games to have ever been released in the series at that. It made more lasting and extensive contributions to the lore than Altaïr's Chronicles, Discovery, Memories, Identity, and Rebellion. It "not counting" because it wasn't a main production is an argument that can be used for any spin-off game. A character featuring in a spin-off game is still a character featuring in the series. Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 04:17, 31 May 2024 (UTC)
I think Project Legacy deserves a mention, canon importance aside. Despite not giving direct control of the character to the player in the usual way games do, it still counts since it can be considered an interactive story or a visual novel. The concept of "playing as a character" can extend beyond direct control to include other forms of narrative interaction. It's the immersion and participation that defines the player's experience. So, in this way, Project Legacy has the first playable historical character: Bartolomeo D'Alviano.
Now, I don't think Anastasia should consider a protagonist, she is better defined as a deuteragonist, who is a second protagonist, someone who is also important but not as important as the protagonist. Other examples would be Reiner from SNK, Robin from Batman, Luigi, and Sasuke from Naruto. Haytham is also a deuteragonist and it can be argued if he later becomes the antagonist or if the antagonist was Charles Lee all the time. It depends of the author's intentions, and since Anastasia was a total surprise, I think she's better defined as a deuteragonist, yes.

Son of Ra stuff[edit source]

Thanks for the help on this, especially since I messed up the notes. I was wondering, do you have the actual line about the Order not wanting him executed? I assume it was from Kallipos but I can't find it transcribed anywhere. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 08:06, 8 June 2024 (UTC)

Glad I could help, though I don't think you messed up anything on the notes. I believe I've seen you cite websites before, so I figured it was one Those Days for you. As for the Son, I'm afraid I don't have the execution line or any more info than is already on here. I don't own ACO, so I have to rely on playthroughs and hope that players trigger the line or find and read the note (unless it's written in Bayek's notes and not brought over?) I'll see if I can find it. – Darman (talk) 21:15, 8 June 2024 (UTC)
Update: It seems the info you seek is in "Fires of Dionysias". I actually read the page and when one guard asks if the Son of Ra is still caged since he claims to be a god, his patrol partner says that he "just finished [his] rounds. He is there. The Captain wants him executed, but someone higher up is protecting him." The only doc in Bayek's notes mentioning Kallipos is his warning to his men not to bring women into the barracks, telling them to report infractions, and offering rewards from the Captain's food if they do. – Darman (talk) 01:00, 9 June 2024 (UTC)
I left the title outside of the note template which you fixed. And yeah that was the line I was looking for. For some reason I thought it was either spoken or written by Kallipos directly. I was also wondering, on top of the Notes compilation page and memories dealing with where the notes are found, do you think we should include the notes on those specific location articles? Sometimes they get referenced on the articles but most of the times not. I want to say this was discussed once before but I can't seem to find it. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 05:46, 9 June 2024 (UTC)

Haytham's Hidden Blades[edit source]

It's pretty clear he wields dual blades from general gameplay, his character model and actions in cutscenes (especially in the "Alternate Methods" where he double assassinates two redcoats in front of Connor) and official artwork that alternates in depicting him with both the left and right blades extended. The book just doesn't the explain where the other one came from for some reason. Please change the article back. – K1ller289 (talk) 18:52, 14 June 2024 (UTC)

Ah, I'd forgotten about his double-kill of the Redcoats, thank you. I'll revert it – Darman (talk) 18:55, 14 June 2024 (UTC)

MTG Cards[edit source]

I'll take A to M, you'll take N to Z? – Soranin (talk) 01:15, 19 June 2024 (UTC)

Sure. I'll follow your lead. – Darman (talk) 01:45, 19 June 2024 (UTC)

Uh, where are you getting the card info? The latest date/art I see on ScryFall is from 14 June. – Darman (talk) 02:00, 19 June 2024 (UTC)
The images I got from the official MTG database, the artists' names I'm getting from the text in the cards themselves, since scryfall will probably only update tomorrow. (The ones where I got the names but not the images are from the other previews that happened today but since a bunch were videos or had low quality art, I'm waiting on the official database to update tomorrow). - Soranin (talk) 02:07, 19 June 2024 (UTC)

Btw, there were a few I couldn't figure out what to tag as (103,108 and 109) so I'm doing the sword of light and shadow in exchange for you doing those for me :3 - Soranin (talk) 02:07, 19 June 2024 (UTC)

Oh, never mind about those, Lacrosse managed to figure them out :) - Soranin (talk) 02:36, 19 June 2024 (UTC)

An Uncommon Proposition[edit source]

Hi, I have a question that goes back some two years, if there's any chance you might be able to recall the context of it. On "An Uncommon Proposition", in the BtS section, there's an entry that goes "Birstan's line that he is a reference to the famous stage direction in William Shakespeare's 1623 play The Winter's Tale." The page history shows you were the editor that contributed that, but it looks like the line was missing some information between "that he" and "is a reference to..." I'm curious if you can remember which line exactly it was; as I'm planning to contribute some findings to that page, I want to make sure that what you wrote, and the reference's nature as an Easter egg, is properly upheld. Cheers! RShepard227 (talk) 16:52, 28 June 2024 (UTC)

Huh, weird. Yeah, this must be a save glitch or I had hit save too early. I meant to note that Birstan's line about "his exit, pursued by a bear" copies Shakespeare's stage direction. Fixing now, thanks! – Darman (talk) 17:05, 28 June 2024 (UTC)

Social media screenshots[edit source]

I have two email screenshots, one from Chuck Austen (writer for Uncivil War) and the other Adrien Tomas (writer for Witches of the Moors). If I upload the files and link them to you could you format them correctly for citing? I hope to get a few more emails in the coming month as well. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 01:28, 30 June 2024 (UTC)

Oh cool, great job in contacting them! We can use the {Email} template that's often just used for in-universe Assassin/Abstergo communications, but it serves the same purpose here. I think we should be able to cite by doing <ref>{Email} {{c|[File:NAME.jpg|screenshot]}}</ref>? We'll see if the code glitches. – Darman (talk) 03:30, 30 June 2024 (UTC)
I'll link them here hopefully tomorrow or if not mid July. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 04:13, 30 June 2024 (UTC)

[File:ACVisionaries Charles Austen email reply.jpg] [File:ACFragments Adrien Tomas email repy.jpg]
If you could help formatting/naming those as need be. The first is for the BTS of Ulysses S. Grant, the second for Isaac du Queyran. I am hoping to also hear back from MSR Design (I guess I could contact Studio Lounak for this as well) about Abstergo Philadelphia Facility, Guillaume Dorison on whether Maxime Gorm is Subject 12 and Julia Dusk is Julia Gorm's mother, Christie Golden on whether Jeanne d'Arc's ring is significant, Alex Freed about the unnamed people in Assassin's Creed: Valhalla – Forgotten Myths, and someone from Assassin's Creed: Last Descendants – Locus about whether Alice is the Alice from the cut Michel Reuge database entries in Syndicate. Rick Barba on The World of Assassin's Creed Valhalla: Journey to the North – Logs and Files of a Hidden One is seemingly a bust. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 01:51, 1 July 2024 (UTC)
That's a long first email! I've renamed both files and written both messages in the email template. While the ref code I used above works fine for displaying this, given the template's sheer size compared to smaller text footnotes, I think using the refgroup=note function may be better. I've already added both to their respective pages. – Darman (talk) 00:10, 2 July 2024 (UTC)
For the record, a full screenshot of an e-mail message, whether under references or footnotes, is not an acceptable way of citing the source. It is entirely okay to cite personal correspondence, even if they are unpublished or took place in private. Various standard style guides like Chicago Style, Harvard Style, and others provide formats for it. Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 05:03, 2 July 2024 (UTC)

re: Kaori Kagami[edit source]

I actually haven't read BoSJ so I don't know the minutia regarding her interaction with Ellen Kaye but would it make sense for it to be a set up for failure? TBF we have kinda seen that in Heresy with Rikkin trying to do the same with Hathaway. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 04:52, 1 July 2024 (UTC)

"Vocation" vs. "outlet"[edit source]

FYI, youxia being criticized as "free-lancing adventurers without productive vocations" is another way of saying that some people thought they were "kids who wouldn't get a real job". "Outlet" changes the meaning because it loses the "job" sense and makes it a question of a hobby or channeling away discontent. Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 03:48, 9 July 2024 (UTC)

Haytham and the Boston Underground[edit source]

The Animus builds the world based on the ancestor's memories. If the player can explore the underground as Haytham, it means he remembers going there. To emphasise this, if you try to go somewhere he didn't during that time in his life (e.g. New York or the Frontier (before sequence 3)), you'll get desynced. IRL Ocracoke[edit source]

  • British forces: two sloops (Jane and Ranger); about 60 men; reportedly 8-11 dead, just as many injured
  • Pirate forces: one sloop (Adventure); 19-25 men; reportedly 10-12 dead, rest captured

Not sure how well all this squares with what we see in game. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 07:04, 14 September 2024 (UTC)

Thanks. Will have to review scene again, but I think we can square this easily since Edward is knocked overboard and so misses any later killings and the final headcount for both sides after. Also realized that not only can I check the "Death" section on Blackbeard's WP article, but can also see what Capt. Charles Johnson says in A General History of the Pyrates, since I reference it in the Echoes transcripts. Thanks! – Darman (talk) 12:20, 14 September 2024 (UTC)

More work[edit source]

No doubt you've seen my overhauling of the stat tables in the lists. Could I ask you to do some work for me? 🥺 It's nothing complicated, it's just reordering some tables over on [AC:CST/Weapons]. If you can help out, this is what needs doing:

  • Reorder the Ezio normal weapons, grouping the swords, the axes, and the blunts together on the table; (Done 24 Dec 2024)
  • Reorder the Liberation weapons (Done 24 Dec 2024)
  • Reorder Odyssey's heavy blade to group the axes and the scythes (Done 18 Oct 2024)

The idea would be to leave the number of tables unchanged but, like, on the odyssey heavy blade table have all the axes, followed by all the scythes and so on. Totally fine if you can't help out, but I thought I should ask, since I'm gonna be out all day today. - Soranin (talk) 16:09, 14 October 2024 (UTC)

Haha, no, despite lurking on Special:RecentChanges, I somehow have missed your removing upwards of tens of thousands of bytes of information across many pages lol! I'll see what I can do, will be away later in the day myself and am trying to clean all the new Shadows pages that Kyashira had beaten me to for adding categories. – Darman (talk) 16:15, 14 October 2024 (UTC)

Remembered you had asked for help here. I think I've done as you asked? Both the Ezio and Aveline weapons were sorted by type in the order you listed, so I just alphabetized them. – Darman (talk) 00:15, 24 December 2024 (UTC)

Ram and Vulture[edit source]

Sorry, sir, would you mind stopping changing my edits of Actaon and Ktesos? It was wrong and I appreciate if you stop switching it from right to wrong again. unsigned comment by JamesKenyway (talk · contr) 12:19, 4 February 2025‎ (UTC)

Stop adding the wrong pictures to these articles. Even if you had not first added them as webp format, their original files had already existed as png. The mod Lady Kyashira uploaded them and they are named appropriately. – Darman (talk) 01:00, 5 February 2025 (UTC)

Shay article[edit source]

I re-added the template for good reason. First of all Shay said "WE are responsible for killing innocents and destroying cities." In saying this, he's essentially admitting part of the responsibility, contrary to what the "sense of culpability or lack thereof" section claims. Second of all, the entire section reads as nothing more than a long, angry rant against Shay. If the author wants to go on a tirade against Shay, he can do so anywhere but his wiki article. Until it's rewritten, the template should stay. – Joish~stone (talk) 08:20, 8 February 2025 (UTC)

[Topic moved to Shay's talk page but devolved into personal attacks] – Darman (talk) 13:50, 9 February 2025 (UTC)

No. If you dislike a character, you're more than likely not the best person to write about them from a NPOV. Simple logic. No personal attacks. Joish~stone (talk) 17:25, 28 February 2025 (UTC)

AC Valhalla Soundtrack Length[edit source]

Hello Darman,
Notably not a big deal, but I had only stumbled upon this after making my own playlist in spotify with all 7 albums and manually deleted the duplicates. But on a wiki, accuracy is accuracy, and if an error is spotted, we should do our part to correct it, which is why anyone should do their part to correct what is spotted. Here is a link to my playlist if you need further evaluation. Thanks. unsigned comment by George Neos (talk · contr) 19:31, 22 February 2025‎ (UTC)

Thanks for bringing this up! Perhaps I miscalculated when writing the page. I'll take a look at this when I have some time later. – Darman (talk) 19:45, 22 February 2025 (UTC)

re: ACV Artbook cover[edit source]

As we know Ubisoft isn't above repurposing an asset from somewhere else but gut feeling is this is an Ubisoft original that the other person is selling as stickers rather than other way around. Otherwise I think it would have been reported somewhere given the hate Ubisoft can sometimes get. Is there a way to check when a design was listed on redbubble that would be the best way to confirm. 00:35, 20 March 2025 (UTC)

Shadows Memories Unfinished[edit source]

I feel like the Shadows memories are unfinished, because I can't seem to find links in the template; I wouldn't mind too much, but I can't seem to find any information about the Chapter 14 memories. Plus, I always leave a {IncompleteMemories} template so someone can expand upon it, but it doesn't seem like anyone cares. – MrWii000 (talk) 02:54, 15 July 2025 (UTC)

Incomplete Shadows memories that I need help in finishing
  • [A Chance Encounter]
  • [Temple Stories]
  • [Restless Spirits]
  • [The Lost Envoys]
  • [Darkness Falls]
  • [The Peasant Who Would Be King]
  • [Topple the Traitor]
  • [Story of a Samurai]
  • [Story of a Young Boy]
  • [Story of a Shinobi]
  • [Out of the Shadows]

Afraid I won't be able to assist much on memory transcripts as I have other things on my plate at the moment, but thanks for considering me. I can certainly help with cleaning any formatting though. As an aside, while I understand why you copy/pasted this exact message to myself and two other users, I think writing it on only one page would have sufficed and we likely all would have seen it. – Darman (talk) 02:15, 24 August 2025 (UTC)

Inconsistencies with certain database entries[edit source]

Hey Darman36,

I’ve been tidying up the AC2 Animus landmark database entries while I replay the game, and I keep running into the same weird inconsistency on the early Florence pages:

- Database: La Rosa Colta (AC2) has had Rebecca’s glyph note with the bold “**you**” (meaning Desmond) since the page was created in November 2009. - Database: Ospedale degli Innocenti (AC2) already had the building itself linked as the exact landmark in Rebecca’s note long before I ever touched it. - But pages like Database: Santa Croce (AC2), Database: Santa Maria del Fiore (AC2), etc. are missing the exact same Rebecca quote, the landmark link, and the tiny “you = Desmond” clarification—even though the in-game notes are identical.

It makes the category feel randomly half-finished when you’re actually playing and trying to find the glyphs.

So before I do anything else, I just wanted to ask which of these three you’d prefer:

1. Leave everything exactly as it is right now (some landmarks have the full Rebecca note + link + Desmond clarification, some don’t). 2. Remove the landmark links / Desmond clarifications from the pages that already have them, so every landmark entry is minimal and consistent that way. 3. Let me quietly bring the missing ones up to match what La Rosa Colta and Ospedale degli Innocenti have had for years (same quote, same link, tiny “you = Desmond” note).

Whatever you think is best, I’m totally good with it—just let me know! Thanks so much.

Images for Shadows[edit source]

Oh, I thought webp. were fine since it was accepted as an upload. I can replace them though. Sorry for the inconvenience. Thank you for letting me know. Batfan13 (talk) 05:33, 21 December 2025 (UTC)

Oh okay. I'll stop at Okunoin ... Shrine then. Honestly, I have tried changing them to jpg on my end but to no avail. Is there a way on the wiki or another outside source I can use to convert them for future pics? Batfan13 (talk) 05:49, 21 December 2025 (UTC)
