'''Xiao Han''' was a member of the [[Chinese Brotherhood of Assassins]] during the 18th century. He was the nephew of [[Master Sun]], the served as the head of the [[Hualien Trading Company]] in [[Macau]].

==Biography==
In 1725, Xiao Han and two of his fellow [[Assassins]] arrived as his uncle's {{Wiki|Gambling ship|floating gambling hall}} in Macau to discuss about the [[Isu|precursor]] [[Temple (Isu)|temple]] in [[Angkor]]. Master Sun had gained possession of a sea log given to him by [[Shimazu Saito]] which contained the location of the temple but was encrypted with codes. Xiao Han was shown the sea log by his uncle and agreed to help decipher it. Soon after, Sun snatched the logbook and claimed by recovering the treasure in the temple would gain them immense wealth.<ref name="FT 34">''[[Assassin's Creed: Forgotten Temple]]'' – Episode 34</ref>

When Xiao Han asked his uncle what he intend to do with the treasure, Sun replied that he would present the treasure to the {{Wiki|Qianlong Emperor|Qing Emperor}}, expected to be rewarded greatly return. He also stated that once the Emperor acknowledged Xiao Han's loyal service to the [[Qing dynasty|Qing Empire]], he and his brotherhood would be pardoned for their cause.<ref name="FT 34" />

Upon hearing this, Xiao Han used a [[rope dart]] and promptly snatched away the logbook in Master Sun's hand, angrily reprimanding Master Sun for surrending himself to the {{Wiki|Manchu people|Manchu}} regime, stating he was a disgrace to the Great Master Xiao Yun and his homeland, and he had trampled on the creed that had been passed down in their family for generations. As his fellow Assassins drew arms, Xiao Han drew his [[Hidden Blade]] and announced he would execute Sun in the name of the Assassins.<ref name="FT 34" />
