==Biography==
In 1582, Usami Yoshiko fell in love with a ''[[samurai]]'' and told him about a secret passage that sneaked in lovers and other visitors. However, the ''samurai'' secretly worked for [[Akechi Mitsuhide]], who used this passage to attack Lord [[Oda Nobunaga]] at Honnō-ji and then abandoned Yoshiko.<ref name="The Betrayers">''[[Assassin's Creed: Shadows]]'' – [[The Betrayers]]</ref>

After the [[Honnō-ji incident|incident]] at Honnō-ji, [[Hori Hidemasa]], retainer to [[Toyotomi Hideyoshi]], met with [[Japanese Brotherhood of Assassins|Kakushiba ''ikki'']] member [[Yasuke]] and asked for his help to track down these traitors. Along with fellow Kakushiba ''ikki'' member [[Fujibayashi Naoe]], Yasuke followed Hidemasa's lead and found her location in a house besides [[Katano Castle]]. There, they confronted Yoshiko, who explained what she had done and how she felt uneasy since the incident. Seeing her remorse, they agreed to spare her and let her leave [[Katano]].<ref name="The Betrayers"/>
