==History==
In the spring of 1581, [[Yasuke|Diogo]], who was recently taken as a retainer under Lord [[Oda Nobunaga]], met with Lady [[Nene]] to learn the art of calligraphy under his mentor [[Kamiizumi Nobutsuna]]'s orders. Under her instruction, she began to show how this art is composed of many virtues, such as rightheousness and courage, and how this will help understand balance and form.<ref name="Lady of Whispers">''[[Assassin's Creed: Shadows]]'' – [[Lady of Whispers]]</ref>

In 1582, going by Yasuke and having joined the [[Japanese Brotherhood of Assassins|Kakushiba ''ikki'']], the [[samurai]] headed to the temple and was met by Lady Nene, who was thankful for his arrival. Discussing Nobunaga's [[Honnō-ji incident|death]], Nene offered her alliance with him and his new friend [[Fujibayashi Naoe]] against the [[Shinbakufu]], especially [[Akechi Mitsuhide]]. From her own network, she revealed to him about the Shinbakufu being in [[Ōtsu]] and her contact [[Aoi]] and about her husband [[Toyotomi Hideyoshi]]'s forces in [[Harima]] at [[Himeji]]. Thanking Nene for the information, Yasuke wished for her safety before leaving.<ref name="Lady of Whispers"/> While there, Yasuke and Naoe found two lost pages scattered on the temple grounds.
