In 1582, Ranmaru was together with Nobunaga and [[Yasuke]] at the {{Wiki|Honnō-ji}} temple in [[Kyoto]] when they were [[Honnō-ji incident|ambushed]] by forces gathered by Nobunaga's vassal [[Akechi Mitsuhide]].
