The '''Chinon bureau''' was a [[Hidden One]] [[Assassin bureau|bureau]] situated in [[Chinon]], [[France]]. ==History==
In 870, the bureau was headed by [[Mentor]] [[Mahaut]] and counted [[Aline]], [[Matthias]] and [[Oisel]] among its Hidden Ones. Upon receiving information from the north and a request for help from [[Basim Ibn Ishaq]], worried about the recent happenings in [[Antioch]], Mahaut summoned the trio to the bureau to give them their next tasks. In the small room she asked Aline to go north and investigate the arrival of the [[Vikings]], since she could speak their language, and sent the other two to meet with Basim in the [[Levant]], while she herself would remain behind to take care of the bureau's affairs.<ref name = "Paragraph 017"/>
