The '''Wakasa Temple''' was a [[Seismic Temple]] that was located in southern [[Wakasa]], [[Japan]] during the [[Sengoku period]].

==History==
At some point in her life, the [[mercenary]] [[Kassandra]] ventured to [[Japan]] on her mission and left some valuables inside the cave, meanwhile hiding the true entrance of the temple.<ref name="A Puzzlement">''[[Assassin's Creed: Shadows]] – [[Story Drops]]'' – [[A Puzzlement]]</ref>

In 1582, former ''[[ashigaru]]'' [[Kane]] and [[Kinu]] came across the [[Isu beacon|keystone]] and some riddle scrolls pertaining to the temple's doorway. At one point, they came across [[Iga]]n ''[[Ninja|shinobi]]'' [[Fujibayashi Naoe]] and [[samurai]] [[Yasuke]], who asked them about their door. During their conversation, Kane and Kinu agreed to give their scrolls and keystone in exchange to be part of their [[Japanese Brotherhood of Assassins|Kakushiba ''ikki'']], to which Naoe and Yasuke reluctantly agreed. Using the scrolls, they found the glyphs across Japan and opened the door. Inside, they initially found treasures left behind by Kassandra but saw nothing further.<ref name="A Puzzlement"/>

After some time, Yasuke unfortunately lost hold of the beacon when the [[Black Cross]]es [[Eamon Hathaway]] and [[Nirmala]] stole it from him and left him for dead. Eamon and Nirmala later headed to the temple, after garnering information earlier from [[Kane]] and [[Kinu]], who unwittingly gave them the scrolls and knowledge of Yasuke holding the keystone.<ref name="DoubleCrossed">''[[Assassin's Creed: Shadows]] – [[Featured Events]]'' – [[Double-Crossed]]</ref> Upon entering the temple, Eamon and Nirmala inspected the temple, only for Nirmala to see nothing. However, Eamon looked closer, destroyed the statue of Kassandra, found the secret entrance by using the keystone, and entered further into the temple along with Nirmala.<ref name="Buried Secrets">''[[Assassin's Creed: Shadows]] – [[Featured Events]]'' – [[Buried Secrets]]</ref>

While the Black Crosses traversed through the temple, Nirmala noticed that Naoe and her fellow ally [[Rufino]] were following them and engaged with them. Meanwhile, Eamon headed further to confirm if they found their true objective: [[The Observatory]]. Unfortunately, Eamon came across a familiar [[Seismic Temple artifacts|artifact]] and concluded it was another [[Seismic Temple|temple]], not the Observatory. Angered, he soon came across Nirmala losing her fight against Naoe and joined her. Besting the ''shinobi'', Eamon nearly executed her until Yasuke came and saved her, surprising them all. Nirmala almost finished off Naoe but Rufino managed to shoot her, allowing Naoe to assassinate Nirmala swiftly.<ref name="Buried Secrets"/>

Filled with anguish, Eamon held Nirmala in her final moments before donning his [[Crusader Helm|helm]] and fighting against Naoe and Yasuke. Ultimately, he lost his fight and then berated the pair for not knowing about what [[Assassin-Templar War|war]] they stepped into before succumbing to his wounds. After looking at the artifact, Yasuke stated that they should leave it. Leaving the temple, Naoe, Yasuke and Rufino saw Kane and Kinu having taken out most of the treasures out. Before leaving, Yasuke broke the keystone and threw inside the cave, ultimately locking the temple, especially from the [[Templars]].<ref name="Buried Secrets"/>
