The '''Faculty of Sciences''' is the main building of the [[Lens]] campus of the {{Wiki|University of Artois}}.

==History==
Originally the the offices for the [[Lens mining company]], the building is adorned with eighteen {{Wiki|Dormer|dormer windows}}, built to represent the eighteen mines they operated. At their productive peak, a [[train]] platform was once installed for the shareholders, removing the need to go to [[Lens station]] proper.<ref name="Mines">''[[Le Secret des Mines]]''</ref>

In the early 1990s, the building had passed into the hands of the university<ref>{{WP|University of Artois}}</ref> and, in 1994,<ref name="Interview">{{Cite web |url=https://e-monumen.net/patrimoine-monumental/le-mineur-lens/| title=Le Mineur -Lens| publisher=e-monumen.net| date=06 May 2019| accessdate=20 May 2026}}</ref> a bronze statue of a miner was installed in the gardens, made by Hungarian artist Daniel Ference Nagy. In the 2020s, [[Assassins|Assassin]] ally [[Simon Mulio]] visited the university during his search for a [[Templars|Templar]] treasure and, after his disappearance, an [[Abstergo Industries|Abstergo]] employee tracking him did the same.<ref name="Mines"/>
