Yes at the begining of ACB the staff lies in the vault. lets look at the staff page on this wiki shall we?

It was 'presumed' to be destroyed, as assumption has no place in the world though, no one can be right or wrong here. Which brings me back to the initial blog post. I was meerly stating a possibilty, considering its last known location and the fact that Daniel will have something important to do with Desmond :)
