Ravensthorpe residents[edit source]

Hello BearticWiki,
I see you've recently added images of Ravensthorpe's various residents from Valhalla's pre-release gameplay videos. While myself and other editors appreciate your efforts finding and uploading the pics, I'd like to remind you of the AC Wiki's policies. Please note that you need to source any and all images you upload to the wiki in accordance to our image policy. For more information on how to source images, check this page. Also check the information about naming images appropriately. Badly named or unsourced images will be deleted. Feel free to reupload your deleted image with proper sourcing. Thank you. – Darman (talk) 13:20, October 16, 2020 (UTC)

New articles[edit source]

Hello again,
I saw you started a new page for Faravid. While the Wiki appreciates your efforts as we slowly play through Valhalla and write down new information, I'd like to remind you that it is preferred for new pages to have at lease some text and a reference when they're first created instead of just a blank stub and a picture. Thank you. – Darman (talk) 14:40, 8 December 2020 (UTC)

Images[edit source]

I'd like to remind you again to please reread the Image Policy (linked above under "Ravensthorpe residents"). The information you put in the infobox variables for your upload of Faith the nun's image did not match the required standards for images. So far as the policy pertains to your latest image, not everyone who visits the site knows what "AC:V" is, you are not the author/creator of the digital model, and the image is not released into public domain. – Darman (talk) 00:20, 31 December 2020 (UTC)

Hello,
While I and other editors greatly appreciate your work finding and rendering images of Isu to replace the interim close-up screenshots we've used for a while now, I'd just like to remind you: Please note that you need to source any and all images you upload to the wiki in accordance to our image policy. For more information on how to source images, check this page. Also check the information about naming images appropriately. Badly named or unsourced images will be deleted. Feel free to reupload your deleted image with proper sourcing. Thank you. – Darman (talk) 12:35, 24 April 2021 (UTC)
Thanks for sourcing the image of Melitta. And don't worry, you sourced it right. Just two quick tips for next time, the "|licensing=" parameter in the sourcing template is the same thing as the "Licensing" dropdown menu just below. So long as that part is filled, you don't need to use the dropdown. Also, screenshots are direct from a game and typically have in-game backgrounds. With a few exceptions, (almost) everything else is {{CC-BY-SA}}. Other than that, keep up the good work! – Darman (talk) 14:35, 24 April 2021 (UTC)

Saga Stone[edit source]

Just want to commend you on creating the Saga Stone page. Very well done! – Darman (talk) 04:15, 15 February 2021 (UTC)

Valhalla source code[edit source]

Saw your edit on St Denis. What all do you have access to and could you post it somewhere? Either as a subpage or joining the wiki discord? This sounds like super interesting stuff. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 00:14, 21 August 2021 (UTC)

Why did you remove my edits? In real life, the runes were associated with 9 worlds.[edit source]

Why did you remove my edits? In real life, the runes were associated with 9 worlds.012345678901111aaaa (talk) 18:27, 9 February 2022 (UTC)

Could you please link a source to your information? As i could not find any info on those three specific runes. Plus the rune thing should only be on Freya's medallion if its correct.BearticWiki (talk) 18:34, 9 February 2022 (UTC)
1) It is not only on the medallion, but also on the wall of Freya's temple, and on the statue, and the color coding is always the same.

So your sources are

  1. A Russian blog page
  2. An image with the source "Own work" that's not used in any pages
  3. A tumblr post with a source being a book written by a astrologer who has no secondary education

Until you can hand us actual sources, that's staying deleted. - Soranin (talk) 15:55, 10 February 2022 (UTC)

What? Muspel has his own rune painted on the portal in the summer trailer. Each world has its own rune.

In the God of War, the same image of the worlds with runes. https://godofwar.fandom.com/wiki/Nine_Realms

English is not my native language, I don't know how to search. 012345678901111aaaa (talk) 13:01, 11 February 2022 (UTC)

To start, the fact that God of War uses a rune for each world does not make it a source and second, Muspelheimr has A rune on a portal, though to say it is THE rune for the realm, as well as arguing that every realm has a specific rune, so far is speculation. - Soranin (talk) 13:35, 11 February 2022 (UTC)

Spelling/punctuation errors[edit source]

Hello Beartic, can you please explain to me why your writing for "Hildr" contained an incredible and abnormally high amount of spelling and punctuation errors? Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 02:23, 3 May 2022 (UTC)

Was probably just tired and forgot to look through itBearticWiki (talk) 06:23, 3 May 2022 (UTC)

Writing feedback on "Fish" and "Crown"[edit source]

I'm not sure if you missed my corrections to your creation of the "Fish" article, but I left detailed notes explaining them in my edit summary. A lot of the mistakes in that article were repeated in the "Crown" article you have just created, so I would like to make sure that you have received my feedback.

The most important points are:

  • The Appearances section is meant to be a list of confirmed appearances of the subject. It is not supposed to be a list of all Assassin's Creed media for other editors to check for appearances of the subject. This would be self-defeating because if a work is on the list, then it already means that the subject has been verified to appear in it. This is what the list tells readers, so including items where an appearance has not been verified is basically deceitful. This is not to mention that editors already know to check Assassin's Creed sources for the subject in the first place. You also must not include items in the list out of pure guess that the subject might have appeared in that source. Only include media that you have verified features the subject.
  • Editors are formally expected to proofread their work (normally via the preview screen) before publishing and to consolidate edits as much as possible. A series of consecutive minor edits is known as chain-editing, and it is discouraged because it can be unnecessarily spammy for the feed when the edits could have been consolidated. Chain-editing is defined as four or more consecutive minor edits on the same article in the same day. In practice, we are very lenient on both of these matters because we understand that it is common for even users to miss mistakes even after a round of proofreading and keep on tweaking or need to take breaks throughout the day as they work. Spelling mistakes which are typographical errors (i.e. when you know how to spell the word, but you reflexively mis-typed it without realizing it, as opposed to not being sure how to spell a word and neglecting to check a dictionary before publishing) are also typical and usually tolerated within reason.
But when you combine chain-editing with two basic spelling errors in the same sentence in the lede, the second sentence in an article with only three sentences, this is stretching beyond the limits of reason. That is to say, we don't normally call out users for neglecting to proofread before publishing even though we're always supposed to. Sometimes we can forget or we're impatient to just publish. I get that; I feel that way at times too. But the expectation that you really do abide by the proofreading rule increases the more you tweak the article, (if you're going to keep editing it, you might as well check for simple mistakes right?) and the mistakes here would have been easily caught with just a little, quick proofreading.

Please keep these two points in mind in the future. Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 03:33, 26 January 2023 (UTC)

Will try and keep these things in mind boss o7 RealBearZ (talk) 08:11, 26 January 2023 (UTC)
