Something I think most people seem to be forgetting, was that Connor and Altaïr had almost equally tragic story's. I mean, Altaïr saw his father muredered at age 11, his closest, and only friend tried to kill him, his only father figure betrayed him and everything he belived in, his son and best fiend were murdered, and mutilated, he accidentaly murdered his wife when he tried to avenge them, and he spent the next 30 years alone, driving away his only family. To say the least, I think that he had an equally, if not more, tragic story than Connor. (Not that I'm implying that Connors story wasn't tragic at all. It was.)
