Sept 2025 - A full year after returning to clean up the Valhalla transcripts, I am officially done with the vanilla game like an idiot decided to tackle Asgard and Jotunheim for a true completion of vanilla, and still have zero intent on doing the same for the DLC. Vanilla alone took a year and I can only assume the DLC would do the same.
The following are the projects I left unfinished:
AC Origins[edit | edit source]
The King of Kings – Nefertari dialogue, which fires under as-yet undetermined circumstances. W/o reloadable saves, hard to isolate a trigger
Traveled north a little bit, near the Pavilion of Judgement, then...
- Nefertari: His throne remembers him, between the two scepters, this dignity of his spirit.
At the Battlefield of Kadesh
- Nefertari: You bring my dearheart closer to peace.
Performing a Leap of Faith from the viewpoint...
- Nefertari: The face of the god is open, revealed.
Near the underground Scorpion Lair where an eye (Ka) is found...
- Nefertari: The sky is overcast, the stars darkened.
In the scorpion lair, recovering the eye...
- Nefertari: Elect of Ra! His servant bears down upon you, carries his yoke. Keen your blade, cup-bearer.
^Elect of Ra means "Chosen of Ra," which was a title for Ramesses. Who is Ra's servant? The scorpion? What about Serqet? Yoke = plank used to bind two beasts of burden together at the neck to pull a load. Cup-bearer = Bayek.
Also, a scroll in the tomb...
- I have seen things...: Things that cannot be believed. Chariots aflame, struck down by the bow of Orion. Imperishable stars, dying eternally. And through it all this frail world, held together by spider's silk, teetering on the edge of nothingness.
Using Senu to survey the Battlefield of Kadesh...
- Nefertari: There is no god, no god in the stars, who has not his companion by his side. Shall I be thy companion?
^Is she... volunteering to take Senu's place?
Collecting the right eye/second eye at the Maryannu Camp...
- Nefertari: He sees the sapphire, the cerulean, the turquoise as stars. The dust veil lifted from his eyes.
- Nefertari: The cunning must feast upon their own tail.
Releasing a Ba from the Siege of Dapur... No dialogue from Bayek like the quest page suggests. But it does trigger after walking into the main area of the siege.
- Bayek: The spoils of war? These are the Bas of People taken captive during Ramesses' battles.
Releasing a different Ba, but not the last one...
- Nefertari: Merciful is he! His Hemset freed, falling from the firmament unto the sand.
- Nefertari: Thou art become victorious and filled every atom with thy beauty.
- Nefertari: Encompass the heaven, the earth, all things in thine arms.
Releasing another Ba.
- Nefertari: Cobalt stars in the empyrean. Let thy imperishable ka be seated.
^Is this delayed from the Ka quest? In my playthrough, it was fully completed before this point.
That's all I found.
AC Odyssey[edit | edit source]
Atlantis DLC[edit | edit source]
Fields of Elysium[edit | edit source]
Okay, it's actually not Delos levels of bad, but the referencing of every comment ever chosen is pretty annoying and evokes the same sentiment.
I wrote up as much as I could from the route I ended up on—All optional conditions fulfilled ideally, Leonidas sacrificed, flame kept from either side, friendship with Hermes broken, Hekate exiled, Adonis befriended but not romanced— and left notes of variables I believe have significant effects on dialogue, while also segmenting the page so that they can be easily filled in.
- Primary master save file for exploring dialogue should have:
- All viewpoints synchronized—especially Dionysian Hemicycle for easy access to Mausoleum of the Kingless Queen.
- All Marble Maidens found and broken—they don't lower Influence enough by themselves to force Hermes' quests, and there's a nasty bug where there locations load as cleared but without a statue to break, preventing the "Blasphemer" trophy.
- All four Keeper's Insights found—Veiled Altar of Hermes will prematurely update The Keeper and Key Maker but doesn't otherwise affect dialogue—and Marble Maiden tributes destroyed, if player so desires.
- Gaia's Underpass "solved".
- A Lover and A Fighter begun, completed through clearing of Fortress of the Three Sisters, but before returning to Adonis.
- Secondary save file (should save 40-60 min. of running around) should be set:
- Completion of "Wave 1" quests i.e. "Meet Your Makers"—Lover and Fighter, Sudden and New, Dark Horse, Keeper and Key Maker, with decisions set for Adonis—to take the first Flirt or not—and horse.
- Completion of Dead Kings and Pretty Things up to second Flirt. Available w/o taking first.
- Completion of The Keeper and Kyros up to talking to Kyros at the crossroads. Do not kill rebels for "best" results. Hell, don't even get detected.
- Completion of Good News up to recruiting Silver Tongue. Liberate Theron for "best" results, though he doesn't seem to affect much after Have Another Drink.
- Tertiary save file, to explore Adonis romance:
- Hekate quest line through 'Have Another Drink' completed. Hermes only up until raiding the Human Encampment to free Kyros, but clean out the Mausoleum beforehand, because that'll have to be done to clear Hermes' quest line in a timely fashion, in case one of those variables affects something in Adonis' line.
- Notes on Adonis:
- Killing rebels during Hermes' quests will affect Adonis relationship negatively, but no dialogue reflects this during 'Dead Kings and Pretty Things' or 'Persephone's Little Birds' as a result of this. It will be strictly in 'The Beacons are Lit' and beyond, if at all.
- References Orphnaeus if he was given to the rebel cause. The rest of Dead Kings/Pretty Things is straightforward. Flirt option available even w/o first one.
- Flirting with him and coming on strong doesn't seem to be too detrimental, save for the Flirt option in 'Little Birds.' Encouraging him to forget about Aphrodite definitely backfires, given the context.
- Little Birds – Messenger is the true threat, but blacksmith works for Aphrodite, need to kill latter for unique dialogue/romance progression.
- The Beacons Are Lit - Romance viability determined at the end of this quest. 2 Flirt options were insufficient, but the latter 3 were, even w/o taking the very first.
- Shagging Adonis is solely responsible for his worst ending, regardless of any potential fallout dialogues afterwards.
- Eternal Flame isn't given until just before the battle, if the corresponding option was taken in 'Keeper and Flame'.
- Persephone quest sits between 'Birds' and 'Beacons', requires completion of Hermes quest line.
- Notes on Persephone:
- Leonidas or Kyros - At the end of the episode she reneges on her promise to bring back the loved one, so spare Leonidas. How does Kyros' death affect the rebellion? Leonidas is alive to join the fight, but if Kyros is kept alive and not exposed, what happens? Google seems to do a bad job of answering this.
- Seems to affect Adonis' self-doubt during 'Beacons'
- Kyros seems to contribute nothing at all to the Conquest Battle and final outcome. Shame, would've been interesting to fight him possessed as the other side's "Hero", instead of a Kolossus.
- Notes on Hekate:
- Hypothesis: If Hekate is still trusted, Adonis will be burned. If not, he will be allowed to leave, face intact. Unless the player romances him. Then he'll be burned even worse than if Hekate was still trusted, regardless of her fate.
Finally, Give 'Em Hades must be completed. If left until the end, will prevent starting Adonis' final quest and the Conquest Battle. At the same time, it's a good buffer to get more time to complete Free Their Minds, the Rest Will Follow.
Torment of Hades[edit | edit source]
- Consider running the side quests after defeating Hades. He doesn't show up at points where he should, might be interesting to note. Or, we can forego those results since, canonically-speaking, Kassandra moves on from realm to realm and never goes back.
- Could actually just be the result of having found and recruited Achilles. Hades only offers his location in exchange for the flower. Use Brasidas quest to check.
The Dead – Curious Consideration[edit | edit source]
7 of the 11 Fallen are characters encountered during the main quests and killed therein, along with a few others who make appearances in Hades' realm. However, through some creative gameplay, some deaths can be actively avoided. While I'm not 100% sure on how far the main Odyssey quest must progress before beginning the Atlantis DLC, I wonder how many deaths can be avoided, and if this is reflected in the DLC episode. It'd be a long campaign to figure out, though.
At the very least, player must complete Atlantis main quest, beginning of which is denied until finding Myrrine and securing Naxos in Chapter 7. This rules out pre-Chapter 7 deaths:
Cyclops of Kephallonia- Prologue boss, must die.The Poisoner- Killed in Chapter 4, but if I recall he could be KO'd and recruited. Though I also recall the bug from The Truth Will Out, in which recruited enemies flag as dead—which was reflected in the Pythia getting interrogated.- Testikles - Shark food in, but not before, Chapter 7.
Epiktetos- Comes down with a case of Deimos in Chapter 2.The Monger- Killed in Chapter 5.- Swordfish - Minotaur can be killed without fighting Swordfish. Just complete Full Circle, get the disk from Ardos, kill Minotaur, claim artifact, continue with Atlantis main quest.
- Deianeira and Astra - Killing Astra can be avoided during the Boeotia campaign—if Chapter 7 completion and therefore killing Deianeira is even required—but they'll both show up. Is Astra simply deleted from the main world after Deianeira dies?
- Kleon - Cameo in Labors of the Keeper, but only makes sense if Chapter 8 is complete.
- In regards to the big side quests, Phoibe dies in Chapter 6, but Brasidas doesn't die until Chapter 8. If Chapter 8 completion is not required, he doesn't have to die and show up for his side quest chain. On that note, how would a pre-Chapter 8 entry affect "loved one" options in Episode 1's A Life for a Life? Would it default to Phoibe?
- Of course, the easy answer to all of this would be "DLC just assumes the main story is done," but after that 12-hour run I made grinding up a file to beat the Minotaur pre-Myrrine, I wonder... and I also offed Swordfish for the XP, so I can't just advance the file I built up.
Judgment of Atlantis[edit | edit source]
- Blood Gets In Your Eyes - All other quests are required. Do them before ever talking to Elpis for smoothest transition and checking of dialogue variables.
AC Valhalla[edit | edit source]
King Harald's disposition[edit | edit source]
Three total dialogue choices across all of Eivor's prologue encounters with Harald Fairhair. There's a hidden scoring system similar to how flyting is scored that determines Harald's disposition towards Eivor.
at Nottfall: We have common cause = +1
Followed by the decision of what to do with Gorm Kjotvesson...
Kill = 0
Banish = +1
Defer = -1
And finally, Eivor's plans for the future
Seek Valhalla = +1
Fate is Unknowable = 0
Support Sigurd = -1
at Nottfall: We don’t need your men = -1 ‘’ ‘’ at Nottfall: What’s in it for you? = 0 ‘’ ‘’
Range: -3 – -2 = Friction, -1 – 1 = Lack of trust, 2 – 3 = Intrigued
One-tailed 0 +1 +2 system also makes sense...
0-1 Friction, 2-4 lack of trust, 5-6 Intrigued
Map unlock orders[edit | edit source]
- Cambridge + Leicester --> East Anglia and Oxford
- Either of East Anglia or Oxford --> Shropshire
- All three of East Anglia, Shropshire, and Oxford required --> Kent
- Kent --> Sussex. None of London (Erke and Stowe), York (Ljufvina), Winchester (no one), Lincoln (Hunwald), Essex (Birstan), or Nottingham (Vili) are actually required for Sussex, thus it is possible to go into that questline with a skeleton crew of Ubba, Soma, Brothir and Broder, Deorlaf, and Basim.
- Sussex --> Gloucester.
- London alone unlocks York. York + Oxford are required to unlock Winchester.
- York + Sussex are required to unlock Yorkshire.
- Nottingham unlocks at Settlement Level 4. No other conditions fulfill it. It is possible to do this at the very start of the game by metagame-raiding enough supplies to accrue 13 "renovation points." See Ravensthorpe Development for further information.
- All territories, with the exception of Vinland and Valka's dream quests, are required to unlock the pledge to Hordafylke.
- Pledge to Hampton unlocks upon returning from Hordafylke.
Ravensthorpe Development[edit | edit source]
- Each building renovated accrues one "renovation point," denoted by a notch on the bar. The first is Gunnar's Forge, which is story-required. The Hidden Ones' Bureau is another point but is only required when players want to undertake the three Order of Ancients hunts in the major cities (and unlock Yorkshire, by extension).
- East Anglia, London, Sussex, and Yorkshire provide 2 points each.
- Swanburrow's House becomes available to renovate after completing Lincoln, but is not required for the main quest.
- At 3 points, the Encampment upgrades to a Colony. All of the ruined buildings reclaimed by the forest are cleared away to make room for the next 6 building options—including respective residents—as well as the graveyard. Because of the requirement of Gunnar's Forge and East Anglia to the main quest, Ravensthorpe will always be a Colony at the time of Svend's passing (and later Dag's).
- At 4 more points (7 total), the Colony becomes a Hamlet. The three edge farms (recommend Grain Farm) and Cartographer Hut become available to construct, along with the Seer's Hut. Because two of London, Sussex and Yorkshire will be completed (all three are ultimately required), plus the Hidden Ones' Bureau to unlock London and York, Valka will always move to the settlement before the main quest is anywhere near done. Her quest does not have to be completed at all, and she can be left at the docks the whole rest of the game (this in turn skips her dialogue before Eivor leaves to take Hampton.)
- At 6 more points (13 total), the Hamlet becomes a Borough. The edge farms gain a single expansion (recommend Grain Farm for a long row of ration recovery bushes), and Kari and Mayda can each gain houses. Nottingham and the Isle of Skye unlock. As Valka has dialogue in the intro for Isle of Skye, this requires her being here, which is automatically fulfilled by her arrival in the Hamlet state.
- Because of the required Colony state by the time Sussex is done, all the residents who have dialogue during the celebratory feast will be moved into the settlement, even if their buildings are not yet constructed.
- At 9 more points (22 total), the Borough becomes a Village. The final six farm expansions (2 for each) become available. Village state is required to begin the Final Episode, along with the first—completing Hordafylke and returning to England to complete Hampton—and second epilogues—eliminating every member of the Order of Ancients—and the completion of the two side arcs available through Valka's Hut.
- At all remaining points (18, 40 total), the Village becomes a City.
Arc post-mortem dialogues[edit | edit source]
These are basically "check-ins" that Eivor can do at any point after the arc is successfully completed out. Probably fit best on the very last quest page before the "Reporting on [shire]" memory, but there are exceptions. The following are for Lincoln:
In Grantebridge, Eivor can meet with Soma again. This conversation must take place before Eivor pledges to Suthsexe, otherwise Soma is removed from Grantebridge for the rest of the game.
- Eivor: Soma.
- Soma: Eivor, my friend. It's good to see you again.
(Asked "How is the city?")
- Eivor: How's Grantebridge? It's gone through so many changes.
- Soma: The city has bounced back quickly. The river brings trades, and trade brings prosperity. I have built this city into something separate from myself. As long as I protect it for the rest of my days, it will live on and on.
(Chose "Goodbye")
- Eivor: It was good to see you, Soma.
- Soma: And you.
Lif is always available to chat, provided players got the good ending for the Grantebridge arc (correctly identifying Galinn as the traitor).
- Eivor: How are you, Lif?
- Lif: Quite well! It's been odd not having Birna around to keep my pride in check. How is she since she joined you?
- Eivor: I think she's enjoying herself.
In Snotinghamscire, Eivor can talk to Trygve (as jarl. There might be different ones for Vili as jarl with Trygve dead, and Vili as jarl with Trygve alive)
- Eivor: When last we met, you said your chin-grass was no jarl-beard. It seems time has proven you wrong.
- Trygve: Not entirely, old friend. I also said you were a bringer of good omens, which proved to be true.
There's also one for King Harald in Alrekstad, should Eivor return to Norway after the prologue. It may depend on his disposition and I don't plan on going back to re-setup every permutation.
- Eivor: Your army is impressive.
- King Harald: Impressive enough to join?
- Eivor: No, not today. But who can say where fate will fling us?
- King Harald: Indeed. Let us hope we both land on the same side.
Findings that may be useful to know but don't really fit anywhere[edit | edit source]
Except for maybe in Floating conversations where a lot of them are already logged. (Score!)
East Anglia[edit | edit source]
The enemy knocking on the door at Scotthoh Farm may call out to Eivor by name, despite having no reason to. It is likely their action is flagged to recycle dialogue used in monastery raids where a raider waits to breach a door or open a large coffer with Eivor's help (an action that always requires two people)
Jotunheim[edit | edit source]
There's dialogue for drawing near and climbing the large magic tower in Utgard, but it doesn't fit neatly into the A Feast to Remember page (and that page is big enough already), so I'll write it all down here.
Havi spied the large broken tower wreathed in the remnants of jötnar magic and approached its foundation.
- Havi: A lonely tower, ancient and abandoned. The ice has gnawed it well.
Havi climbed the steps and entered the tower. He quickly passed through the interior and looped around the outer wall of the tower, weaving his way through the jötnar illusion magic back inside, where a tree had begun sprouting in the interior.
- Havi: What trickery is this? A tree grows within the tower.
The tree was not the only change to the interior. As he advanced, he noted a few blocked paths opened and open gates closed.
- Havi: That gate was not there before.
Havi found a note from the tower's previous occupant, a jötnar witch.
Asvid's Observations – Entry 211
- My experiments have been a disaster so far. But I shall not surrender myself to failure. The future of Jotunheim is in my hands. I need Ymir's blood to progress further. But how to get it?
Havi continued climbing the tower until he reached a more appropriate living quarters, and read another note on a desk.
Asvid's Observations – Entry 219
- If I succeed in my task, this barren land might grow crops in abundance. No more children need starve, no more raiders go to war for things we lack. Think of it! Jotunheim in bloom!
Climbing higher still, Havi found another note in a concealed alcove.
Asvid's Observations – Entry 345
- Finally! The experiment is a success. It was Ymir's blood I needed all along. But that is a rare resource and too valuable to spread about. How can I replicate this with simpler reagents?
Havi turned around and observed the abundance Asvid's experiment had yielded.
- Havi: Even in the harshest lands, there are some who strive in the service of their people.
Havi eventually reached the apex of the tower, which granted him a viewpoint for the entire city of Utgard and beyond, as well as a vantage to uncover Asvid's hidden cellar. He performed a Leap of Faith to enter the tower's depths. At the bottom, Havi found Asvid's final message and bags filled with the fruits of her labor.
Asvid's Observations – Entry 401
- Those drops of Ymir's blood were not mine to take, and those who owned it are hunting for me. I knew this day would come, but it has come sooner than I thought. I had hoped... I had hoped I could show them.
They will not find this tower. I will leave and lead them away. Please, whoever finds this, use what blood remains. Continue my research. Bring flower to our land.
- Havi: What happened to the witch, I wonder. A secret lost to the snows.
Havi eventually found an orchard amidst the ruins in eastern Jotunheim, concealed by illusion magic.
- Havi: An orchard. In this frozen land? Even the seasons lie in this cursed place.
He ascended the steps and found a bounty of fresh crops, along with another note from the witch.
Asvid's Observations – Entry 1671
- After all my labors, I have done it! If only I had been more patient, seen more clearly! Being forced to work without Ymir's blood was like throwing away a crutch. With my own, I have found the path and brought life to the land again!
But my time is drawing near. I sought to put all the realm to bloom, but these many years of hiding, fleeing from those I stole the blood from, have taken their toll. I will rest here and return to the earth to become part of my creation.
This small part of Jotunheim will be forever mine. I am satisfied with that.
And then there's some notes for ransacking Utgard's upper keep. Mostly useless.
Warning to the Troops
- Listen up, vermin! I see you slacking off, slow to your posts, gabbing with your fellow snotrags instead of watching out! You think the Æsir are going to be content to lick their wounds after the bruising they just got? Wrong! Those moist little milquetoasts can't wait to stick a knife up your arse, and unless you shape up, they'll be all over this camp like the boils on your mother's face.
Anyone else I see pissing about on watch gets a kicking they won't forget.
Blacksmith's Complaint
- Been working like some mangy thrall for longer than I can say, forging iron for our "great assault." Then when those hob-footed clods get themselves slaughtered by the Æsir they blame it on my armor! Well, I've done my part. Sharpen your own swords, boys. I've a skinful of mead to drink and a dozen after that.
Note from the Captain
- All right, maggots! You think because you can swing an axe, that makes you a warrior? You think training with dummies makes you fit to face down a horde of Æsir? To me, you're still a squirming pile of mewling, milk-livered, wobble-arsed little boys fit only to blunt the spears of the enemy with your bodies.
Anyone want to prove otherwise, come face me at the top of the keep. Beat me and I'll consider your training done.
And a note from a house in the city about 150m from the Grotto. Consider adding to the page as part of memory routing?
Thrall's Plot
- So I'm Suttungr's favored thrall, am I? First among slaves, that's what I am. What a great honor to be my master's chief builder! To work in the snow and ice till my fingers blacken!
Well, privilege has its upsides. I got close to the master's treasures, and I filched a key too. Just waiting till the moment is right. When I break free of this yoke, when I make my way to Asgard, I'll need something to trade for my passage to paradise.
Ravensthorpe[edit | edit source]
Randvi can stack various conditional and followup comments in a single instance of reporting back to her at the Alliance Map, the aftermath of East Anglia being the main driver of such an occurrence. Her tone ends up swinging wildly between lines in accordance with the mood of each event firing:
- Randvi: O, hello, Eivor. Good day. --Prelude to Taken for Granted, precedes the others
- Randvi: Word of our growing settlement has reached outside ears. So have a look around... you may see a few new faces. --Tied to growing the settlement as part of the ongoing A New Home, and new people arriving. This fires next.
- Randvi: That Holger, he is quite a character. --Followup from the trial in Mane and Tail. This is required before we can talk to Randvi in the war room post-Oxford or post-East Anglia (whichever came first)
Finally, Eivor delivers her report and the raven token goes on the map.
- Randvi: Some interesting news. King Ceolwulf has sent Ceolbert to Sciropescire. He hopes to install him as ealdorman there.
- Eivor: Good for Ceolbert. He should do well, considering all he has learned from you.
- Randvi: I gave him only a taste of my knowledge. The rest he will need to figure for himself.
--After both Grantebridgescire and Ledecestrescire, followed by Rued's attack on the settlement, Ceolbert stays at Ravensthorpe for a single arc. After which, he moves to Sciropescire and that arc unlocks.
If all this follows up from East Anglia as that arc, Randvi will announce Svend's passing.
- Randvi: One more thing... I do not know if you heard, but Svend passed away a short time ago. The poor man slipped away in his bed. --Part of Carrying the Torch, which always follows up from completing East Anglia.
Ceolbert has a comment for the first time a pledge is made while he is present in the war room:
- Ceolbert: Rest assured, Eivor, the settlement is in safe hands.
On my file it was Ledecestrescire -> Grantebridgescire, so it fired as The Great Scattered Army began. Unknown if this would apply to Walls and Shadows, Brewing Rebellion, or Kingmaker (or even Old Friends. I still have that file, might be worth setting up)
Building Yanli's trading post allows the player to engage in Death Stranding-based delivery quests; no proper memory associated, can't fast travel at all or the items reset to Ravensthorpe, and they despawn when about 20m away. This makes it virtually impossible to do multiple deliveries in one route and it becomes faster to fast travel back to Ravensthorpe and retread the same rivers than jockey two items at a time in the interest of "logistics." Anyway, Yanli has a reward for completing them.
- Yanli: Do my eyes deceive me, or did you deliver all of my remaining orders?
- Eivor: I think I did, unless I miscounted.
- Yanli: I had no idea. Here one day, gone the next. Thank you for that. You deserve some compensation.
Reward was 3, or 6, nickel ingots. the scene faded away as they were rewarded so I don't know if it replayed the one reward. Need to do an actual count.
Hildiran
- Eivor: Can you remind me what you do here?
- Hildiran: I am here to train you in the art of battle meditation.
- Eivor: I need nothing.
- Hildiran: You should go train then.
After opening Freyja's Gate
- Eivor: Can you remind me what you do here?
- Hildiran: I am in Ravensthorpe to train you and to trade treasures for any Battle Energy you have collected.
"What does the Eye of Odin do?"
- Hildiran: The Eye of Odin will direct you to objects of the gods using sounds.
- Eivor: I should get going.
- Hildiran: Goodbye.
England at large[edit | edit source]
Treasures of Britain
Reaching the Treasures section below the Cent cave with the Jotunheim potion herbs.
- Eivor: One more enigma to unravel.
Possibly a random call from a list of three, like most of the ambient dialogues.
Collecting the stela below Grime's Graves, Eivor says:
- Eivor: Another strangely marked artefact...
Even if it's the very first one she picked up.
Looks like they're randomly called as well.
- Eivor: So odd... what are they for?
After discovering the sword in the stone deep beneath Myrddin's Cave, the lines shift to more directly reference it:
- Eivor: The sword... it calls to me.
One step closer to the sword...
Another key... I will have that blade.
On that note, let's write down the remarks for exploring Myrrdin's Cave. Maybe I'll find the page for it somewhere.
Eivor found the door but could not open it.
- Eivor: Polished stone and strange markings. What is this place? Closed. But I feel a draft from somewhere. Another passage?
Dove into the water, then found a slab with strange script:
Entered the main vault where the sword is located:
- Eivor: Gods, this is... immense.
Reached the sword.
- Eivor: Stone pillars with holes at their base.
Inscription in Stone
- At the cavern in which you find yourself.
See before you these twelve pillars,
Twelve seats for Britain's riches,
And the sword of the Ancient Ones,
Called Caledfwylch, defender of this isle
Let one who undertakes to seek these gifts,
And love this land, bear this sacred weapon.
–Arthur Pendragon
Attempted to pull the sword.
- Eivor: An ancient weapon. Locked in place.
She inserted the stone tablets she acquired from around England into the pillars. She noted that one had already been obtained.
- Eivor: Someone placed a seal here. How long ago, I wonder?
- If Eivor did not have all the tablets, she noticed a pillar for which she did not have the tablet.
- Eivor: This hold requires a key of some kind. Or a seal.
Drawing the sword, Eivor held it aloft in a golden light before twirling it and dropping it in the sheathe on her back.
- Eivor: Are you the sword the Britons call... Excalibur?
She inspected the strange light behind the stone pillars.
- Eivor: What is this... a cold fire? It throws no heat.
She stepped into it and was transported far above.
- Eivor: Gods, what strange seidr (magic). Carried through darkness, from one place to another.
Exhausted all Hunter Deliveries for Wallace (before Settlement Renown 5):
- Eivor: I brought something for you.
- Wallace: Now now. Come back a little later.
Completed the final delivery and obtained the Magyar Hunting Bow:
- Wallace: You've done great work, Eivor! The lands are safer and the settlement has prospered thanks to you.
Exhausted all Fish Deliveries for Arth (before Settlement Renown 5):
- Eivor: I have something that may interest you.
- Arth: Sorry, Eivor. Can't take anything right now. Come back later.
Completing the final delivery and obtaining the Swordfish (great sword) just results in silence from Arth and a return to the dialogue options.
Taken for Granted, successful full stealthing of the bandit camp at Raetborough:
- Randvi: There. That's done. Now to deliver Magni his horse.
(damn it all I forgot the dialogue for being detected there)
Flyt in Picheringa, final words for choosing "You've drunk far too much ale, now, you're just telling lies.
- Eivor: Yerabragaproblytootruceyeslies!
Since it's a mashup of the other options, I'm guessing this one doesn't matter and simply awards 2 points regardless of choice. Final grade:
- Borghild the Alewife's Bane: Aaaaaaaah! (yes that's 8 a's) That was the most incredible flyting I've heard in all my years! You are a wonder!
or
- Borghild the Alewife's Bane: Awful! Terrible! I knew just by looking at you, you couldn't hold your mead. Leave and come back when you're ready to drink and do some proper flyting.
Sailing[edit | edit source]
The special jomsviking recruits—Bjorn Bloodtooth, Vili, Finnr, Birna, and Rollo—may have their own stories to share on the boat, much like Dag and Bragi.
- Finnr: I once sat down and spoke to a Saxon priest. Not as men with different gods, but as drunk men. Curious, I questioned him. He claimed we might believe differently in who sits amongst the clouds, but our beliefs are not so different in nature. After all, they too look to the gods for answers. Where we have many, they have just one. Only need one, I suppose. So I asked him, "Is your God truly so powerful? For we see the dark clouds and know Thor's fury as it singes Midgard." But I had yet to witness their God's primal powers. What were they? Did he bring bountiful harvests or boons? The priest said that his God was everywhere and everything. I did not understand it then. Maybe I still do not. But there is an undeniable vigor, a strength, in their idea of Heaven. Believing that their lives will one day be better still. Even with us cleaving through it. Hope, Eivor. Hope. I think that is what their God brings them. (murmurs among the crew)
Modern day[edit | edit source]
Layla notices the dead plants after coming out of the Animus (because Shaun didn't water them, as the owner of this Airbnb instructed)
- Layla: Damn. Someone won't be happy.
The plants are later replaced after another Animus break.
After exiting the Animus upon completing the last anomaly, Layla began to make sense of one riddle awaiting outside.
- Layla: Eivor carved these runes. Didn't know I could read these, but... that's the bleeding effect, I guess.
After some time in the Animus, Layla looked over the notes Shaun had compiled from her time reliving Eivor's memories.
- Layla: Shaun has been busy...
<next conversation reflecting on the restored Isu footage is already logged>
Before leaving, Layla spoke to Shaun one more time.
- Shaun: It's very hard to wrap one's head around all this. You know? It never gets easier.
<conversation with Rebecca is also logged. Capitalize 'Anomaly'> Before leaving, Layla spoke to Rebecca one more time.
- Rebecca: Welcome back.
Sciropescire[edit | edit source]
After Ceolbert's death, Eivor can return to Tamworth Fortress to pay her respects.
- Eivor: Ceolbert lies here.
She entered the crypt containing Ceolbert's tomb. She stood before it and covered her face with her hand.
- Eivor: Ceolbert. You are now with your god. I am left here to mourn the loss of a fine young man.
Before leaving, she could speak to King Ceolwulf, sitting at his throne in the longhouse.
- Eivor: Lord...
- Ceolwulf: Eivor, I wondered if I would ever see you again. It's... it's good to see you.
- Eivor: I wanted to visit. See how you were doing.
- Ceolwulf: Kind of you. I've been... somewhat lost, truth be told. With Ceolbert... gone, the world seems to have... lost a shade of color.
- Eivor: I know something of this feeling. I lost my father, my mother, my entire clan.
- Ceolwulf: He respected you, Eivor. If not for you, he might have remained just as you found him. A naive boy, devoid of experience.
- Eivor: Not naive. He simply saw the good in people. Wanted to draw it out.
- Ceolwulf: That he did... May God bless you, Eivor. Whatever remains of my son in this world, I believe it travels with you.
Lincoln[edit | edit source]
If Leofrith is spared, he will be present at the docks of Lincoln awaiting a ship to Rome. I encountered him during Homecoming but it's not specifically tied to that memory, so that conversation doesn't really fit anywhere. Here it is:
- Leofrith: Eivor... why does it not surprise me to see you here.
- Eivor: Leofrith... following through with chasing down Burgred, I see.
- Leofrith: You said it yourself, his betrayal is worth a thousand deaths. I'm just waiting on a ship to take me to Rome.
- Eivor: You'll give him my regards.
- Leofrith: Gladly.
Eivor spoke to Leofrith again.
- Leofrith: I will find him, the coward king. Tomorrow or next year. And when I do, I will give him one long breath to plead his traitor's case.
Eivor spoke to Leofrith once more.
- Leofrith: Burgred can flee his kingdom, flee his people, but he cannot flee his fate. I will see to it personally.
Eivor spoke to Leofrith once again.
- Leofrith: Do not get in my way, Eivor. This is something I need to do.
Essexe[edit | edit source]
During Old Wounds and no other time was I able to fire these.
- Norse Woman: My sister lives in Maeldun. Says things are different there. Bandits steal what little they have and the guards are useless.
- Anglo-Saxon Woman: If Birstan spent less time hunting and more caring for his people, we would all be better for it.
In theory, they should be obtainable at the outset of this arc, since it's complaining about Birstan's leadership. But I only ever got them here.
- Anglo-Saxon Man 1: My sister left for Winchester. After her husband died, the farm fell into ruin.
- Anglo-Saxon Man 2: Essexe is going to the dogs. Birstan would rather hunt than keep the Danes and bandits from our meadows.
Also, the conversation between the Anglo-Saxon Woman and the Anglo-Saxon Man about the previous botched kidnapping attempt can re-fire. Might be a glitch, because this conversation doesn't otherwise exhaust like the others.
- Anglo-Saxon Woman: Did you hear? The Danes tried to kidnap the Lady Estrid!
- Anglo-Saxon Man: I was there! I saw it! Not much of a raiding party. Just a ragtag band, chased off by Aelfred's men. Laughing as they went.
This one triggered on the east end of Colcestre, diving off the viewpoint, with Taken active.
- Anglo-Saxon Woman: I wanted to wear a garland of meadowsweet in my hair. They say it will bring you your true love.
- Anglo-Saxon Man: Let us dance. Then perhaps you will see he has been beside you all along.
Upon completing the arc, Eivor can eavesdrop on the following conversation:
- Anglo-Saxon Woman: What happened at Lammas, it all seemed very fishy to me.
- Anglo-Saxon Man: I am sure I saw that Dane swanning round the brothel with Estrid!
- Anglo-Saxon Woman: And what exactly were you doing there?
- Anglo-Saxon Man: Me? What? Well... you know, the beer! They have the best ale in all Colcestre.
Rollo, back in Ravensthorpe (dialogue may differ depending on Estrid's condition, and therefore who was executed as a traitor)
Some time after returning to Ravensthorpe, Eivor found Rollo waiting at the Ravensthorpe docks, ready to sail with her clan. She spoke to him in reunion.
- Eivor: Rollo! Returned from Francia already, this is a surprise. Is the Lady Estrid well?
- Rollo: She is. Had a rough few weeks upon our return, but she is on her feet and with her family.
- Rollo: And I am looking for a new adventure. If I remember right, you said I might find it here, with your clan.
- Eivor: That's right. Your presence is much needed and well appreciated. Settle in and we will sail soon enough.
