Page name move?[edit source]

The title of this novel has been changed 《刺客信条: 长安望》(Cìkè Xìntiáo: Cháng'ān Wàng)—which I would translate as "Hope of Chang'an", but I think it could have a double meaning—for a long time now, and it has now been published under that time. Despite this, it does not seem like Ubisoft has updated their website about the novel nor have they published more news about it in English. At this point, I'm afraid they might never do so since it's unclear if they will even translate it into English. Since the novel has not been translated into English and nor has it been published under the title Prophecy of the Emperor, I'm not sure if we can still treat it as correct. I think it might be prudent of us to use our best judgement here. I'm uncomfortable with seeing Western fans still calling it Prophecy of the Emperor because I'm afraid they're going off of outdated info we're promoting by not moving this page. At the same time, using our own translation of the title into English would mislead readers into thinking our translated title is official. That would also be improper. What do you guys think should be done? I also welcome editors from the Chinese Wiki to voice their opinion if you guys happen to read this message.

So far, I am very tentatively leaning on moving this page to the pinyin Cìkè Xìntiáo: Cháng'ān Wàng... which can neither be wrong nor unofficial but definitely unprecedented. We will then redirect possible titles like Prophecy of the Emperor or Hope of Chang'an to this page. Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 01:10, 27 June 2023 (UTC)

I wish to make a final call if anyone supports or opposes moving this page to either Cìkè Xìntiáo: Cháng'ān Wàng (the official title just not translated into English) or Assassin's Creed: Hope of Chang'an (an unofficial translation of the official title, which does not comport with our usual best practices but is the best we got). The book has been published with the title changed from Prophecy of the Emperor in Chinese; Ubisoft just never updated any announcement about it nor have they given the new English title. If there is no feedback on this, I will just make a decision myself. Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 16:37, 17 December 2023 (UTC)
If you are still leaning to move the page as you were back in June, I also vote for it. It may be an unconventionally awkward title on an English site, as you noted, but I feel it is better than using an unofficial translation that has not been localized for US/UK markets, as we did when originally using AccessTheAnimus' title of "The Converts" for the The Hidden Codex. – Darman (talk) 23:00, 17 December 2023 (UTC)
Darman, you haven't said which name you think this should be moved to. I gave two options. Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 12:39, 18 December 2023 (UTC)
Or did you just meet you support moving it to either, deferring to my choice? Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 12:43, 18 December 2023 (UTC)

I disqualify myself from things relating to the Chinese language. I defer to Sol's choice. VilkaIsBack (talk) 13:00, 18 December 2023 (UTC)

I am fine with having this article under the romanization of that native title. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 13:34, 18 December 2023 (UTC)
Sorry, I thought I was clear when I had said I would prefer a move over an unofficial translation. I join Lacrosse in supporting the romanized name. – Darman (talk) 15:00, 18 December 2023 (UTC)
Okay that was my bad for not reading more clearly. I will give it until Sunday in case there are anymore feedback, and then I will move it to the romanization of the Mandarin title. Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 10:55, 22 December 2023 (UTC)
I only ask that when moving, a redirect be left behind, so the new page could more easily be found. - Soranin (talk) 13:21, 22 December 2023 (UTC)
