The French Revolution, Russian Revolution where the Romanovs were killed, or early China. Playing a Chinese orphan who grows up in the heart of China during the Dynasty of Generals (1200) would be amazing. Growing to be an assassin warlord and rooting out rival Templar towns and villages makes for an excellent gameplay mechanic. Maybe a building system where you can customize rooms, have secret entrances, make armories etc etc. Possibly go later into the future, around Marco Polo and the invention of gunpowder, Ezio's ancestors worked for Polo and since we will have a new modern day assassin maybe have a tie in encounter with Desmond's ancestry(fight, duel, conversation etc)? Unfortunately we don't know a whole lot about China in that period but I suppose the narrative could take place at any point 700-1500 A.D. and still retain the same general feel and tone. Colonial times and the discovery of America were very interesting in China. Ships were sent to Hawai'i and other lands in the Old World were taken. This is a very open time period and the Dragon Throne has never been well explored in video games, it would most definitely be a great setting if pulled off well.
