What about the paraguayan war of the 1860's-early 1870's? People want a Brazil setting, so maybe you could be in both Brazil and Paraguay. The cities could be like suncion, Rio de Janiero and the Jungle (like the frontier)

The targets could be people like: Francisco Solano Lopez D; 1870 The "Napoleon of South America" head of Paraguay

Domingo Francisco Sanchez-D: 1870. Vie president of Paraguay

Jose E Diaz-D: 1867. Paraguayan general

Juan Francisco Lopez -D: 1870. The 15 year old son of Lopez and an officer in the Paraguayan Army

Maybe other targets could be fictional officers and Templars on all sides of the conflict.
