OK, so there is absolutely no doubt now that Ezio is higher ranked than Yusuf. I was playing a mission earlier, and Ezio asked Yusuf to teach him something about Bombs to wich Yusuf replied "Erh, who is the Mentor here Ezio? I'm beginning to wonder." So, it's now clear in my mind that Yusuf Tazim is not a Mentor.
