The Messenger's Burden

The Messenger's Burden was a virtual representation of one of Ezio Auditore da Firenze's genetic memories, relived by Desmond Miles in 2012 through the Animus.[1]
Description[edit | edit source]
Ezio Auditore was asked to deliver a letter from Andrea Allegro to a farmer living outside the walls of Forlì.
Dialogue[edit | edit source]
- Andrea: Could you deliver this for me? It must be done quickly, but there is a reward.
Ezio could read the contents of the letter.
- Messer,
This is to inform you that your presence is requested at the Palazzo Comunale within the next month. I have received correspondence from your neighbors implying that you have attacked several of them with your sword, even going as far as to mutilate a young girl who crossed your farm.
Though this is your right, as it is your land, they have also claimed that you have committed crimes against God and nature, an accusation of a much more serious nature. Such behavior is forbidden in Forlì. If you are not aware of the charges against you, read Leviticus 18:23.
Report to us, or a contingent of guards will be sent to arrest you.
Cordially,
Andrea Allegro[2]
Ezio made his way outside the city and found the recipient.
- Farmer: Vattene! Via del mio terreno! (Go away! Get off my land!)
The farmer and his thugs attacked Ezio, but he managed to dispatch them.
Outcome[edit | edit source]
Ezio successfully delivered the letter to the farmer in time, and subsequently defeated him and his thugs.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- On reading the letter to be delivered, its contents insinuated that the farmer was both violent and committed bestiality, and as such, he was to attend a hearing at the Palazzo Comunale or be arrested.
