Maion was the owner and announcer of the Pephka Arena during the 5th century BCE in Pephka, Greece.
Biography[edit | edit source]
Friend of Skoura through the "Persian wars", the two established the Arena in Pephka after the fighting was done. For decades, the Arena drew fighters and crowds throughout Greece, with Maion serving as the public face while Skoura fought.[1]
During the Peloponnesian War, Maion met the Spartan misthios Kassandra, and directed her to the Arena, where she met Skoura. Following the death of his old friend, Maion reminisced about him with Kassandra at the Warrior's Rest.[2]
