Officers' Club

The Officer's Club was a government building in the Karkh district of Baghdad, reserved as a meeting place for officers of the Abbasid Caliphate. Al-Rukh and Al-A'eshma, two members of the Order of the Ancients, held regular meetings in the club with their correspondence Dogan bin Arslan.[1]
History[edit | edit source]
In the 860s, after helping the Zanj rebels eliminate Dogan, the Hidden One Basim Ibn Ishaq recovered a letter from his body which traced the two Order members' location to the Officer's Club. After returning to Baghdad, Basim infiltrated the club and eavesdropped on a meeting Al-Rukh and Al-A'eshma, revealing their identities as Turkic generals Jasoor and Nadir, respectively. The two subsequently left the club upon being informed by their guard of Dogan's demise, whereupon Basim made his esape as well.[1]
