Joseph Campbell

Joseph John Campbell (1904 – 1987) was an American writer. Known for his 1949 seminal work, The Hero with a Thousand Faces, which explores the universal monomyth, tracing the archetypal hero's journey across world mythologies.

Legacy and influence

In 2016, while Owen Meyers and Natalya Aliyev were training in the Animus via their shared unconscious, after fighting with the Snake archetype which then transformed into a Path out of the Forest, their handler Sebastian Monroe made a comment about wishing Joseph Campbell were there and if there was a map of the Path, Campbell would have it.
