The House of Aphrodite was one of the brothels between the Kerameikos quarter and the Marble Workshop in Athens. Its name referenced Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love and pleasure.
During the Peloponnesian War, the brothel was visited by the Spartan misthios Kassandra.[1]
According to Aikaterine, half of the 'girls' at the house had been the 'muse' of the actor Thespis at one time or another.[2]
