Farnham, known as Fearnhamme during the Anglo-Saxon period, is a market town and civil parish in England. Once part of Suthsexe during the Medieval period, it is now part of the county of Surrey. Yohanes Loukas, a member of the Order of the Ancients known by his cryptonym as The Oil, frequented the town's market.

During the 870s, the Viking Eivor Varinsdottir travelled to Fearnhamme, where she assassinated Yohanes as part of her quest to rid England of the Order.[1]

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

The town is notable for being the site of the Battle of Farnham, fought by King Alfred and his son Edward the Elder against the Vikings.
